Quality product!
I've owned this bag (15" model) for well over a month and I use it for work 5 days a week.It has exceeded my expectations by far! The leather IS thick, but I'm glad for it. The checquered plaid lining is a nice elegant touch. The compartments inside are just roomy enough for my tablet, power chord and notebook. It has several extra accessory -zippered compartments as well. The top flap feels really, really solid and the front clasp mechanisms are a solid touch. In fact, with this bag I can use the clasps or buckles to fasten the top flap.I get compliments on this bag everywhere I go. It is solidly stitched and sewn. The leather smells fantastic, and people ask me, "how old is that bag?"In short, it's well made, is holding up great, looks like something James Bond or a World War one pilot would've owned. If your waffeling between this bag and another -buy this one. You won't be disappointed.

Bravo
This beautiful piece was EXACTLY what I was looking for! The quality is outstanding and this is the only bag I found in my many days of hunting that would fit all my husband’s things that he uses daily and hauls everywhere! It’s so refreshing to buy something that exceeds your expectations.

The 20” bag is huge!
Dec 31, 2024. I got this to replace the backpack I was wearing around university, because let’s face it, backpacks are for kids.Bought the 20” to make sure I had enough room for my MacBook inside, along with some books for school. And there is more than enough room.As soon as I took it out of the box I knew this was a great decision. The bag looks great.I can’t speak to the longevity of the bag yet, as I just received it. I’ll update if anything changes, but if you’re looking for a good looking bag, I highly recommend it!

It isn't the same as the picture. But it is a very good looking bag.
I spent a long time looking for a new bag. My old Bag of Holding canvas bag was finally starting to get a little too shoddy to carry around every day. So, I decided to look for something with flair as well as function. Which is how I ended up here. (Probably how you got here, too. You saw the pictures and thought, "Dang! That's a cool looking bag!") The pictures of the bag in this listing ARE very cool. The straps are all faded and the bag is mottled. It just looks like it has a story. Like your great grandfather Swearengen gave this bag to a rider to bring the smallpox vaccine back to Deadwood. Or Postman Costner carried mail across the apocalyptic landscape in it. I get it. I thought the same thing when I saw the pictures. And I don't want to say that this bag doesn't actually look like this. But mine doesn't. I do see some customer images where it does. User Tanya, for instance (who happens to have the first image I see in the customer images gallery) has a photo that looks very similar to the picture! User Samantha also has a bag featuring that well worn look of a well-loved bag. If you find the photo from user Travis Stewart or Brandon McLeod, however, you will see what my bag looked like when it arrived. It was not mottled and well worn. Instead, it was reminiscent of a chocolate labrador puppy. (Although hopefully in no way related to one!!)It was a very soft brown color. The leather wasn't soft or furry, exactly, but wasn't smooth and shiny as in the pictures, either. I am kicking myself for not taking pictures of it as soon as I unboxed it. Sorry about that. But take my word for it. Similar to those images. After my initial disappointment of not getting Wild Bill Hickock's actual saddle bag, I realized that, even though it wasn't as well worn and mottled and old-timey looking as the picture, it was a nice looking bag! And, since I got it on a Lightning Deal, I decided to keep it.Since it was now mine, my next step was what to do with it. I saw some comments from other bag owners to treat it with mink oil. I did some research to figure out which mink oil. I have to tell you up front... even though I bought a leather bag, I wasn't crazy about the idea of using something made from furry little minks. (Plus, I kept thinking about how it was made -- I kept picturing cartoons where they're squeezing poor furry little minds to get their oil.) As I did more research, I learned that most mink oil (especially the brands you could buy on Amazon) aren't really mink oil at all. They're mostly made from something called Neatsfoot, which is tallow (fat) from mostly beef. So... cow fat. That's what you're about to rub onto your nice new bag. (In reality, that isn't that different from the oil from a freshly squozen mink, right? As it turns out... it is.) Real mink oil has some special properties which make it good for treating leather. I read a LOT of reviews of various products used to treat leather. Some "mink oil" users actually reported a rancid smell from their leather goods after using that oil. Gross. So, I decided against that. But, I knew I had to use something since the leather seemed very "dry." Not dry and rustic like the wild west picture. More dry and "scaly," like when I bumped it against the counter, it left a big "scratch" in the leather. (Scratch in quotes there because it wasn't a dig into the material or anything -- just looked like when you rub something the wrong way.)I moved from mink oil to leather conditioners. And there's a ton of those as well. (I really learned a lot as I was simply trying to find a product to use on my new bag!) I ended up deciding I wanted something reasonably natural and plant-based (as I wanted to avoid potential rancid smells from animal fat), but still effective. I found several such products, but then remembered I actually had some Dr. Marten's Wonder Balsam in my closet from my Doc Marten days. (You don't know me, but that was quire awhile ago.) I checked it out -- all natural, plant based ingredients. Beeswax, coconut oil, and lanolin. I decided to give it a whirl. And I couldn't have been happier with the results. It darkened the bag up from the chocolate lab look to what you see in the pictures (which is much closer to the seller's picture than what arrived in the box.) It also softened up the leather, gave it a nice sheen (but not shiny) and brought out some of the contrast in the leather! It still doesn't look like the picture, but it is a good looking bag that I have gotten compliments on.So, beyond the look (if anyone is still actually reading this), let's discuss some of the features of the bag. It seems to be fairly well made. The inside is not as roomy as I had hoped, but it is certainly enough to carry my laptop, notebooks, pens, charger, etc. (The stuff you need to get through the day.) You're not going to be able to pack it full of clothes for a trip, too, but I am guessing that isn't what you bought it for. (It's not what I bought it for, anyway.) The pouch inside has some padding to it. And, though I didn't expect this, it stands up when you set it down, which is a nice touch.User Tanya pointed out the straps in her review. I didn't understand it until I got the bag, but now her warning makes complete sense. I took a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. The strap to close the bag has a fun little clasp that slides into the bracket on the front of the bag. That clasp is buckled to the strap. But there's nothing really holding that buckle in place. It buckles onto the strap, but when it is open, it is very easy for the buckle to come undone, since nothing is providing tension to keep it closed. This is nothing a little well placed glue couldn't fix, but it is worth mentioning, since if you lose one of those, the bag isn't going to work well.Overall, I gave this bag 4 stars. It doesn't look like the picture. But, with a little work (and some Wonder Balsam), it can look pretty darn good. And it does seem to be well put together. We'll see how it holds up over time. If you're on the fence, my advice is pull the trigger and get yourself a good looking bag!

Perfect laptop bag
This bag is perfect! It has the room you need for a laptop with a 10-keyboard added to the standard 17” laptop. So 21” and you’re in. Comes very flattened and slightly musty but parking it open, using alphabet blocks or similar sized something and all will be perfect. Well sewn. Strong hardware. Light yet made of thick, durable hide.

Poor quality
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Wanted to buy a nice quality satchel for my husbands birthday, and after two weeks of using it. (Keep in mind all he carry’s is a laptop and notepad) the stitching for the strap has already started to come undone. Plus the buckle for the belt of the strap is also coming off. Unfortunately our 30 day return already expired by 4 days and they will no longer except returns. I do not recommend buying this. I’m so upset about this, because my husband really liked it too and now we have to purchase a new one.

Broken strap
I absolutely love this bag, the more it is used, the more distressed it looks. Ive had this bag for 4 years and Unfortunately the connector for the strap to bag broke this morning. Is there a chance you sell strap separately?
