They are the best and stays on long. Great for fall and Halloween

For the money I feel these are a good value. I bought 12 and all 12 worked out of the Sylvania box and have been in window use daily for about three weeks now as Chrismas decorations.Some reviewers have downgraded their rating based on the color of the lamp so let's talk about that first. These flickering candles are orange, the picture shows them as orange, the description states orange, the box they come in is marked orange. When I turned them on low and behold they were indeed orange! The moral here is don't buy orange if what your really want is apple! My wife absolute loves the flicker, the softness of the light and the color. Me on the other hand, I love the flickering but would favor a brighter yellow or even white.Next, as stated, all 12 worked out of the box and are still working. They are understandably made cheap so I can see the potential value of having spares on hand based on other reviews. I have them only in my windows but they could add to any interior decoration, I just don't think they are of high enough quality for use in a centerpiece on my dining room table.These are eight hour candles and not adjustable. They are not five hour, six hour, or dusk to dawn. They are eight hour and the timer starts ticking when you turn them on. Here again, like color, duration of illumination is a matter of preference and does not add or detract from the rating. It's consistency of time does, however, and the reason I dinged it one star. One candle seemed to have forgotten where it was in space and time as it was early coming on by a couple of hours after the first day or two. Generally though, I have only seen enough drift in time between them to warrant an ocassional reset which I have done once already and probably need to do again. For the money, I guess we can't exactly expect swiss timing.So, in the end, if the orange color and duration of on/off time suits your needs then buy them, if not don't. I feel they a good value for seasonal use, especially if you can catch them on sale.

These candles do not have an orange flame, it’s yellow. I’ll be returning them.

I purchased these specifically bc of the orange/amber flame color in the pic & in their description to match my current candles. The flame is yellow & looks nothing like the pic! $20 on 4 candles I can’t use as intended. These candles are well made, much nicer than most batt candles, but I am disappointed I didn’t get what I paid for.

These window candles offer a subtle, flickering light. We have them in every window in our three story home. At the beginning of the season I line them all up on my dining room table, turn them all on at the same time, then distribute them around the house to each window. That's it! No cords, no lights to turn on and off. You do need to determine what time you want them to come on and off as they have BUILT IN TIMERS. Living in NH it gets dark early by Christmas so I have them come on late afternoon and then they are off just about the time we are heading to bed. Easy to store at the end of the season: NO cords!, remove batteries, put in a box and they are ready for the coming season - taking up very little space. NOTE: If you want bright lights in your windows - these are not for you. However, we love gazing at our subtle, flickering, orange glowing candles from our hot tub each evening. Also, the batteries seem to last forever! We started our candles in early December (each takes 2AA) and they are still going strong 2 months later. (Also important if you have kids - the lights never get hot!)

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed these candles before. I bought my first set in 2013 so this is my 4th Christmas using them to make my home feel warm and inviting before you even enter. Whew 4 years, I would have guessed 2 or 3.I put them on my window sills in the front of my house. They give off a warm flickering glow. I don’t find the color of the light/candle to be annoying at all. I find it perfect and have had many comments on the candles from visitors.On the efficiency side: I light/turn on my candles on Thanksgiving and they burn nightly for 8 hours until mid-January. Then I bring them into the house from the sill to my dining room table to be part of my winter centerpiece and on my hutch. I can burn these candles for 10 to 12 weeks without changing batteries. (I use amazon basic batteries and find they give me long life).Needless to say I recommend these candles and as of today December 15th 2016 you can still order and get them by Christmas!

Really love these candles. They make our home look so inviting and really are a nice touch for the Christmas decorations! They are a touch more orange looking than a regular incandescent light, but far from looking "halloween-ey". The shipped well, unfortunately one of mine came with the bulb broken though- this is the reason for 4/5 stars- otherwise would have been 5/5. I was able to sort of tape it together and make do, but it was disappointing to have a new item broken when you open the package. Besides that, I am loving them so far! The time function works GREAT! I love not having to worry about the electrical cords and having a place to plug each one in. With the batteries in they are heavy enough to not have to worry about them falling over. Very stable. Would definitely recommend!!!

I have them lit up in my front windows with the Christmas wreaths they look great

they look a little yellow but they still are very nice. burn brightly in our windows every night. batteries last a long time.
