Canon RF Lens 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens - Pro-Quality, General-Purpose Zoom Lens for Photography & Video - 5-stops of Image Stabilisation - Nano USM Auto-Focus Motor - Compact & Lightweight Design

I have to admit that I never owned an L lens and have recently upgraded (to R6) from an APS-c crop sensor 12 year old DSLR. The lens itself is amazingly quiet and fast. And I mean Fast with a capital F. The lens is a surprisingly sharp from corner to corner at any given focal length which is something that I personally never seen before. My old nifty fity F1.8 from Canon, Sigma and Tamron lenses always had image quality problems when fully opened which doesn't happen on this RF 24-105mm. The range of the 24-105 focal length is very convenient too as you don't have to get very close to the subject and you also have the option to go relatively wide indoors or when shooting landscape (or architecture). Haven't tried night sky photography yet though, but I think that it will perform great. The compression at the end of the focal length also makes this lens very nice for portraits, or when you simply want to separate your subject from the background - and all this without spending the premium of lets say 24-70mm F2.8, which is just brilliant and I love it! The F4 aperture is no issue for the new mirrorless cameras as they work amazing with high ISO, plus they also support in body image stabilisation, so if needed you can shoot without any issues with low shutter speeds when your subject isn't moving. The built quality is also amazing for a lens that's mostly plastic (high quality) and rubber. When you hold it feels very dense and the weight is well balanced. Personally I think that I won't be needing to upgrade to any other lens for a very very long time :)

This is my first RF lens. I was a bit worried about its quality but I think it’s a brilliant lens. I like the result, constant f4 is a happy medium. Sharp photos, an excellent travel lens in my opinion. It’s quiet, fast and its price won’t break the bank. I’m happy with it so far and would recommend it to anyone.

Brilliant lens, great photo quality.

Its taken a while to get round to buying the 24-105. I started with the 35mm on my R6 along with an EF 100mm macro for shooting mostly indoor music performances. The 100mm macro has produced some stunning portraits in low light. I then experimented with my EFS 15-85mm with the adapter ring and enjoyed the flexibility of the zoom. Some good shots however, the EFS produces a cropped image and the quality never quite matched the 100mm macro. Contenders for my general purpose zoom were: RF 24-105 F4, 24-70 F2.8, 24-240mm. The EFS 15-85mm had shown me I could manage with an F4 lens and the wide zoom range was useful. The RF 24-240mm was tempting but the extra barrel length was less welcome for general use. The RF 24-105 F4 is living up to expectations with some fine shots matching the quality of the 100mm macro but with the extra flexibility of the zoom. The quality of the lens handling and compact size encourage me to take it out more frequently

Perfect walk about focal range for full frame EOS R series Canon cameras. Works well on APSc bodies but focal lengths are 1.6x larger. Stays at f4 through out the entire focal range. Bought this to replace the cheaper 24-105mm f4-f7.1 budget version, which though very lightweight and great photo quality for the price just isn't as bright at the telephoto end. This is the L version so be prepared as it's much heavier than the non L 24-105. It's weather sealed, has fluorine coated optics, nano USM so ultra quiet, 5 stop image stabilised, continuous f4 and super sharp. I was careful to buy direct from Amazon so as to guarantee it wasn't a grey import. At the time of purchase Canon's promo discount was applied straight away so that I didn't have to go through applying for the discount via registration etc to then get it many weeks later. Arrived the next day and because of it's value had to give a code to the delivery driver before he would release it, which is quite reassuring.

This is my main lens with my R6 mark ii and it’s a workhorse for day to day use. The form factor and weight is really good and makes it super manageable to carry and throw in a bag. Obviously having the versatility of an f2.8 is always appreciated, in most use cases f4 is more than good enough and this lens produces really nice images and any focal length. This is also a perfect first lend if you’re just getting into the world of Canon full frame

Just bought for my Canon EOS R, was after more image stabilisation for quick action shots. Honestly I haven't noticed a massive gain over the EF 24-70mm with no IS, actually the glass of the 24-70 is exceptionally sharp. However, even only 1 or 2 stops gain is helpful for fast photography and the extra lenght up to 105mmm also great for portraits. Reduced flange distance works also very well with DPR for additional sharpness. In all very happy, I'm keeping this lens on the camera most of time now.

A superb lens for all round work with really good image stabilisation that has allowed me to even hand hold low light shots exposure wise up to 2 seconds long. Very sharp at all apertures. It loses a very minor point for portrait photography, whilst producing good images F4 is not really enough to give the magical bokeh of a F1.4 - 2.8 RF lens but to be fair this was aimed at being a good jack of all trades lens not a specific portrait lens.

Ho acquistato questo obiettivo separatamente dalla mia Canon Eos R e ho beneficiato della promo Canon in corso fino ad ottobre 2019 ottenendo in una settimana un rimborso di ben 200 euro. Ma ora veniamo all'obiettivo; è una serie L e si sposa benissimo con il corpo della nuova Eos R anche se consiglio l'impugnatura porta batteria originale in quanto il peso complessivo con questi obiettivo diventa importante. La messa a fuoco è fulminea, le foto da 30mb pixel sono "piene di imformazioni" con una qualità impressionante. Non rimpiango obiettivi con più ampia apertura in quanto per mettere a fuoco l'intero viso di una persona o di un particolare mon occorre spingersi oltre l'F4. L' effetto bouquet è perfetto anche con questo obiettivo zoom che lo considero il classico tuttofare ma con qualità elevata; si passa da un grandangolo da ª quasi un tele 105 con un'apertura F4 costante su tutta la focale (incredibile). Materiali in plastica ma molto piacevoli al tatto con un senso di solidità ed effetto premium che mi aspettavo. Paraluce perfetto compreso nella confezione come la pratica custodia morbida. Probabilmente con il tempo affianchero' un teleobiettivo 70-200 prossimo all'uscita con attacco FR per completare il tutto. Buon shopping.

...die Vignettierung ist von der Mitte weg 1/2 Blende schlechter bis in die Ecken. Die Haptik ist irgendwie abartig, es stellt sich kein "Kontakt" ein. Es hat keine "Figur", ist baulich tatsächlich nur ein dicker Zylinder ohne Absätze. Die Riffelung der Gummierung ist schwach und man fühlt keine Unterschiede zwischen den 3 Ringen. Alles ist sehr schwergängig. Selbst der Bajonettdeckel ist hakelig! Die Schalter lassen sich nur mit dem Fingernagel verschieben, auch weil sie so bündig sind (stehen überhaupt nicht vor). Es ist praktisch geräuschlos. Die Auflösung ist tatsächlich bis in die Ecken hervorragend und das habe ich vorher noch an keinem Objektiv so erlebt!!! Die Verzeichnung (speziell bei 24mm) ist selbst nativ kaum bemerkbar, also hervorragend!!! Im Telebereich gibt es keine Verbsserung (Kissen sichtbar). Die Farbwiedergabe ist auch schöner, satter ohne auffällig zu werden. Es wirkt bei Offenblende schon deutlich schärfer. Bei der Autofokusleistung ist mir nichts besonderes aufgefallen. Die Schärfenachführung im Videomodus bringt keine Verbesserung! Wer noch kein 24-105 L hat sollte (falls er eine R hat) unbedingt zu diesem RF greifen, egal ob Primeday oder Normalpreis. Es ist tatsächlich (unter den Canon Objektiven) eine Offenbahrung!!! Absolute Kaufempfehlung für Fotografen, zu schade für die Vitrine!

gerçekten harika bir lens, keskinliği vs. videodaki af performansı da iyi. 105 mm'de videoda gimbal ile çekimlerde biraz af kaçırıyor. dikkatli kullanmak lazım.

EF24-105mm f4L IS USMからの買い換えですが、解像感も向上してAFの速度も早くなり満足しています。 Rシステムにはうれしいコントロールリングも付いているので、操作性も上がっています。 また重量は若干増えていますが個人的には気になりません。 レンズのロックもあるので、ストラップでの移動中にレンズが勝手に伸びてしまうこともないです。 全体的に満足で、早く買い替えれば良かったと感じました。

The lens missed focus several times... about 40% of the time, even when focused manually, using focus peaking. Not sure if it is a general problem or just with the particular lens I received. For such an expensive zoom lens, this is quite unacceptable especially considering it's a professional grade L lens. Had to return it.
