Great product. Easy application and seals well.

I had to change the run on about 40' of natural gas line that involved about 12 fittings. I'm comfortable enough working with gas but I'd rather avoid it if I can. In this case I couldn't. I had always used standard pipe dope and never had a problem with it until I had to take the joints apart years later. The day before I start dismantling gas fittings, sealed with that rock hard dope, I read through my dictionary of 4 letter words to make sure there aren't any I forgot because I'm gonna need them all. I needed a few extra this time so I just made them up. Anyway, I'll get to the point. Gasoila is the greatest sealant I have ever used. There is no wait time from tightening the fitting to turning on the gas. This stuff stays soft for about a day and then hardens up a bit, but you can still scrape it with your fingernail. If I have to take of a fitting off 3 years from now I won't have to break my back breaking the seal. I actually called the company in Cleveland when I was using this stuff to ask them some questions. I was connected to a guy with a british accent and we had a nice chat. He took a lot of time with me and gave me a lot of information. I found out that the product can also be used on potable water lines. No more teflon tape! I tried it on the laundry tub sink trap that was leaking and it worked! This stuff smells nasty till it dries, it's messy but cleans off your hands with soap and water. I got some on my shirt but it didn't wash out in the laundry.

I've been using Gasiola for years. I especially like it for plastic fittings and plastic-to-brass connections. One area where I've had a poor experience was on a propane system where above ground plumbing was 316 stainless and brass (valves). 316 stainless is unforgiving, needing a thin, durable sealant. Complicating the situation was our equally unforgiving environment here in Arizona- Temps reaching 118 degrees baking the steel and everything attached to it. Just for perspective, we have to provide pressure relief valves on exposed copper and brass manifolds used for water as the water often boils driving pressures high enough to shatter plastic pipe attached to that system. On our propane system, we made about ten connections using Gasiola and the remaining 30 or so connections with a high performance teflon tape rated for propane. The system passed a pressure test with flying colors. About 3 months later I discover we have lost a substantial amount of propane. After exhaustive leak detection, we found ALL of the joints sealed with Gasiola had failed. Microleaks were present, and the compound had baked into just dust. None of the teflon tape connections had failed. All of the leaky connections were re-sealed with tape and the system now tests perfectly. I still love Gasoila - just need to be careful about the environmental exposure the connection will have.

Great stuff. Well packaged to enable easy mixing which is essential before you first use it. Inexperienced users will claim the tube is only 1/2 filled and a waste. You need the extra room in the tube to allow mixing. Mix and mix it and you will find it has a perfect consistency.

I use this sealant for all of my gas work. Does really well in cold temps. Easy to clean up. Made in USA!!!

Hi ; This is an excellent product, expensive but good with exceptions . I used it in a well water system, approximately (40-60 psi range) my fittings were primarily stainless to stainless, but I had a couple of brass fittings also . The Exceptions : Gazoila is a wonderful, soft set product, easy to work with, but you MUST tape first , then apply the Gazoila over the Male taped threads . I used 2 full wraps of good high density tape . A brush ( supplied) makes easy application, and try and stay in the clockwise direction, the same as the tape . The other notable exception, even though soft set , it requires “dry time” . I went on the safe side and gave it a 24 hr set, with no water . This is for potable water , other elements, might be different, I.e. natural gas, propane, etc . One more thing “extremely low shelf life” for the money, no more then 1 yr !!! So check your dates . This sealent is very effective on a wide range of gases to liquids but dose not harden. This makes it very easy to undo if it becomes necessary and also if it should require repositioning it dose not require total disassemble in order to have it seal again!

No leaks first try, every time. One thing I gotta say though never have I seen an amazon box so large for 1 tiny item. I have a feeling this might dry up on me the way Pipe Dope does but i will update if it does or doesn't in a few months time.
