I bought this for my four year old as we live in a fairly rural area in Northern Ireland and she's going to a Catholic school, and generally doesn't have a lot of exposure to other faiths and cultures at the moment. I want her to grow up with an understanding of other people's faith, or at least and understanding that not everyone believes what she is being taught at school. I think this book is fantastic, it's so child friendly with the illustrations and the pop up flaps, she's enjoying learning about these things and she's retaining it as well. My friend is a P1 teacher and is going to get a copy for her classroom too. I highly recommend it.

Arrived in great condition. Lots to look at on each page
Arrived in good condition. Published in 2000, the illustrations are looking a bit dated. Having said that there's lots of colour on each page and I like how there is a page suggesting that not all people of the same religion look the same and wear the same religious symbols/clothing. I wish the book acknowledged the fact that some people dont have a religion and that's fine too, instead it asks the reader 'what do you beleive in' at the end. Potential to make a child feel excluded if they are not from a religious family. The book is for at least 5+ yrs old, very intricate tiny pictures and the lift the flaps and pull out bits need a steady gentle hand! The book would need to be read aloud by an adult, hard to read small writing and big words. The book covers a lot about a handful of religions, symbols, clothes, places of worship, home life.

All are One.
I am pleased I bought this little book for my sweet God child. My wish is to see her growing up accepting all religions whilst understanding we are all as One, united in love and care for each other. This book conveys well this important message , both in words and illustrations and I am happy to recommend it to other parents,God parents and all those who care for children.

No need to hesitate..
This is a charming book! Ideal for showing children that we may have different beliefs, but that's the only difference! Explains in simple terms our different cultures and religious buildings and how different styles work in different beliefs. No need to hesitate, click on "to buy".

Good introduction - shame about couple of inaccuracies
Good introduction although there are a couple of issues. 1. Gurdwara is spelt incorrectly. 2. Baisakhi celebrates the founding of the Khalsa, not the life of their greatest teacher. 3. All Christians are not white.
