Unwritten Rules: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance (The Rules Series Book 1)

SPOILERS - Exceptionally Written!
Okay enjoyed this book! Writing is excellent. I am not a spelling nazi like some of these anal reviewers. What I mean by excellent writing is the creativity and exceptionally unique. This is where the spoilers begin. So, the book was intriguing. Even though it allows readers to know who the traitor was before the characters, it worked. The love story was perfection. What went wrong was when he threw the fight. That was stupid to me. It felt lazy and was disappointing. Then the antagonist reasons was just another irritant. Though in real life we do have people who are insane with warped thinking and mindsets. These villains were almost comical to me.I think the book was so good the villains were a bit disappointing. In any other book I would have possibly grazed over it. Therefore, I do recommend this series so far. On to book two. Let's see how it ends.Though I should mention that it better then most of the HS Bully tropes. I didn't even realize that it was labeled as such or I probably would have bypassed it completely.

My Review
I started reading this book on Wattpad but the complete version wasn’t on there so I had to buy the actual book. I picked up to where I left off in the book but a lot of things weren't the same as the Wattpad version so I decided to restart the book. I restarted the book and now I don’t regret it. There are many changes but I love it . The actual book also gives the main characters more scenes together so I’m grateful for that as well .If you are interested in this book but don’t know if you should buy it download Wattpad and look up “The Bad Boy’s Rules” to see if it interests you . This way is free but its not the whole book its stops at chapter 16. Anyways, I recommend this book and I hope yu have a good time reading it .❤️Oh btw “The Bad Boy’s Rules” is what this story is called on Wattpad.

Solid read
I like it. The slow burn was just a tad bit too slow for me but that's just my opinion. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. It had nice tension.

3.5 stars
Pretty good for what apparently was an amateur effort according to the description. There are some weaknesses in the plot & eye rolling moments, but the pacing is excellent and the story-telling is engaging enough that I let the details slide and just went along for the ride.It does have an annoying cliffhanger ending - grr, yes, I very much hate cliffhangers, too - but it does offer a sort of resolution to the central relationship development arc at least. And yes, I'll probably read the sequel when it comes out in 2019.Clean romance level: some passionate kissing and some almost intimacy, but never devolves into graphic, porn level descriptions, thankfully.A fair amount of bad words, and use of God's Name in vain - including ~3 times using it to curse. (Unlike some other groups, Jews & Christians won't try to kill people for blasphemy, but it would be nice if that led to more consideration for their beliefs instead of less)

Tragic Love Story
Haze and Winter have such a tense but funny start at the beginning of their love story. That's the reason why i love this book so much. It is a roller coaster full of emotions. Highs and lows. I love the concept the author Eliah gives to the story and to the characters. They aren't your typical bad boy and good girl, it may come of as that at first but the protagonists bring so much character and life to this story. I love how detailed and honest Eliah is in her writing. She makes sure to let us see and feel the pain that these two very opposite people have for each other. It is a book filled with passion and impossible love. Winter is split in wanting to be loyal to her family and protect them but also falling for the boy that is no good for her.

Love it!
I literally love this book! The story began on wattpad and I have been reading it ever since. It has been amazing to see this book transform into what it is now! I have loved this book from the start. When Eliah annouced on wattpad that she was publishing the book, I probably screamed with happiness! When I got this book, I started reading it immediately and I couldn't put it down! Winter is an amazing character, she is constantly making me laugh. And Haze is... well he is Haze! You cant help but love and hate the badboy at the same time! I love Haze and Winter together! This is one of my favorite books to ever come from Wattpad.

Best book ever!!!
I read this book when it first came out on Wattpad, every time it updated I would be so excited to read a new chapter of Winter’s life. Eliah is literally my idol, and I love reading her books and listening to her music. A few months ago she followed me on Wattpad and I almost fainted. When I first found out she was going to be releasing the book in a paperback form I was ecstatic. After she started a go fund me for it I immediately donated. Now, Years later I am so excited to be able to hold the book in my hand. I can’t wait to see what Eliah does in the future and no matter what I will continue to support her. Also, Eliah if you could would you please follow me on insta @depressedflower666 , I love you girl keep up the good work! 🥰❤️

mixed feelings
Winter has just transferred to a new high school, in a new city, in a new country, for the last half of her senior year. She’s hoping to just fly under the radar but fails spectacularly on her first day when she unknowingly antagonises the most feared guy there.Haze is mysterious, aloof, and dangerous. Winter finds out just how dangerous when she stumbles upon a meeting between rival gangs, to find out that he is the leader of the West Side. But the biggest shock? Her cousin, Kendrick, is the leader of the East Side. There were a fair few negative points for me, the biggest one being that none of it was really believable, especially considering they’re all 18. Throw in some inconsistencies and a touch too much drama, and I found myself rolling my eyes a lot. Some of the terminology was a little off in my eyes, and sometimes things were unnecessarily repeated. For example, Tanner introduces himself and says Haze is his baby bro, and two sentences later Winter’s internal monologue states that Tanner seems older than Haze. I mean, he literally just told her that.Having said that, I actually couldn’t put it down. I needed to know what was happening and how it was all going to end. And it’s a cliffhanger! I did not know this going in. But now I’m invested and I need to know. I’ve also just learned it’s a trilogy, gaahhhh.

Where's the next book?!
I need the next one for God's sake! Listen I'm not even going to lie, these are 18 year old school kids we are talking about so everything apart from the illegal fighting is kind of far fetched and unlikely so it's kind of irritating but it has this way of feeling you in anyway and I love winters personality. Couple of things didn't sit right in terms of the gangs and rules as there are a couple instances where something's didn't make sense. They go to the same school, haze would've known through word of mouth at least that Kendrick had a sister. Why at the fight was everyone looking at her with hatred but laughing at haze? They're still separate gangs, everyone hates each other ultimately. And she's just a pawn, they have no need to ultimately hate her. I just think these are points that could been better explained to be more realistic at least then the way it was but I was so concerned with what happened next I was letting it slide. Still, I was always going to mention it in my review lol

One of my all time favourite books!
I read part of this book when it first came out on Wattpad. When I found out that it had been published, I couldn't wait to read it again because from the very small amount of things that I could remember, I knew it was a damn good book. I read this book in less than a day before I bought the rest of the series. Haze is a literal assh*le to everyone, including Winter when he first meets her, but he eventually begins to open up to her and only her and we see why he is the way he is. This book is amazing and is one of my favourite books. If you haven't read this, I highly reccomend that you give it a go.

Really enjoyed Haze and Winter
This book was really unexpected. This was a new to me author and I wasn’t sure what to expect from unwritten rules. Immediately I fell in love with Haze and Winter and I cannot wait for their story to continue. I need to know what happens after that cliff hanger! There are twists that I’d dint see coming that made me mad and annoyed because I didn’t see it coming but it really added to the book.I need book 2!

Plot holes galore and not remotely credible
Not my favourite book in this genre. I liked some of the characters but there were quite a few plot holes which pulled me out of the story completely. Haze’s character and his impact on others switches from full on God status where us mortals cannot look at him to a wimpy loved up boy who Interacts with those around him like an equal. Winter needs to pee at a party and then suddenly she’s out playing at a park without relieving herself? Why does nobody know Kendrick has a sister? Why is there a gun shot and no cops are called? The list goes on and on...I gave up about 60% through..
