One of the best books on Sinatra
Witty, funny, true. It's not written in an intelluctual style, but it is catchy as hell.

A tope

A gossip fest from Sinatra's valet
I love this book! Jacobs was Frank Sinatra's trusted valet for years until he was unceremoniously fired for boogeying with Sinatra's ex-wife, Mia Farrow, and his pain is palpable through the sheer goss-fest that is this book. My good God, you will never look at certain "icons" the same way again! From needy Marilyn Monroe, who was "filthy" and didn't care to wear a sanitry towel when she menstruated, sleeping in a bloody mess with cookie crumbs in her hair! To JFK the sex addict (though thoroughly likeable, he'd "say anything to score!" and promised Monroe and others marriage, the cad!), Peter Lawford the cokehead philanderer and Sam Giancana, the scary gangster with a little girl's giggle. The few who come out any good are the love of Sinatra's life, Ava Gardner; Humphrey Bogart; Lauren Bacall, and not many more. Sinatra himself is intriguing; clearly talented and charming but, by God, ruthlessly cruel, with a habit of cutting off, for life, age-old friends who he believed had wronged him, including Jacobs himself (though Jacobs always said he never thought it would happen to him!). And you can tell Jacobs hankers for the glory days, giving JFK back rubs and rustling up a swift gin for Gardner. If you find the Hollywood of yesteryear interesting, you'll love reading this first hand account of how the colossally rich and famous live, party and shag (and there's a LOT of that, from Sinatra's huge willy to Monroe's moaning that JFK was a premature ejaculator!). Oh my days, :P

Must read!
This is one of the best books I have ever read! Anyone interested in learning about the life of one of the best artists of all time should read it! The author does an impeccable job of describing the amazing life of Mr. Sinatra, as well as his friends and partners lives. An absolutely brilliant publication, one that I find difficult to put down!
