Easy Pop Melodies for Ocarina

There are not many sheet music books out there for ocarinas. Most are tablature which I do not want. This one has some songs which are easy and some more challenging. Overall, a good book.

Came as described and was in good condition.

There are a few wrinkles and crinkles in the cover, but nothing alarming. The songs are a nice variety of oldies and pop. ('Let it Go' is by James Bay & Paul Barry, NOT the 'Frozen' song.) There appears to be songs fit for beginners to definitely not beginners, so a good tool for increasing one's skill. Basically I'm excited to give it a go! (My ocarina does't come in until tomorrow, darn it, so I haven't tried any songs.)I'm just relearning how to read sheet music, but my only reservation is some of the longer songs don't seem to have the whole thing. Maybe it's the same tune on repeat, but then it should have the symbol. The shortened songs is the only reason they lose a star, so if you have the book & I'm wrong feel free to contradict me.Just to be clear, this is SHEET MUSIC, NOT TABS, which I understand to be harder & first and more useful in the long run. Hopefully the ocarina will come with tab instructions for each note.

Hard to learn on my own.

Why specify that it’s for ocarina if it’s just standard sheet music? I was looking for music which shows the holes that are covered for each note, like what came with my ocarina itself.

gift for daughter liked it but not quite the flute she's used to but up to the challange!

Some songs don’t are not worth playing

Songs are written in normal music notation in this book. That is very good this way as user has to learn reading music notation instead of fingering without any musical details. The best is learn read music notation and convert it to required fingering then we can play any song later.As this book is for 12 holes C Major ocarina, songs are then limited to notes that such ocarina can play. The fingering chart at the end of the book is then for 12 hole C Major ocarina. Do not use this fingering chart if your ocarina is another 12 hole ocarina type such as A Major, D Major or G Major...

Did not include the most desired information, which is the actual positions of the fingers to produce specific tones...this text had only one, badly printed, page showing which holes in the ocarina produce which notes, but nothing to show how to accomplish them....The notes for the songs may interest others...we did not recognise lots of them, and still do not know how to place our fingers to reach the notes desired...a disappointment for a young child, who had hoped to sound like the music in Zelda...better instructions needed...
