Q: Is the length indicated for EACH piece or for the pair? Trying to figure out what size to get. I need 24 inches for each arm. Thanks

I'm not sure, I'm trying to remember what it looked like online. I do know that EACH arm is adjustable. I have a 36" window that I bought the pair for and I "adjusted" each arm to the length I wanted them to be and then tightened the little screw that came with the set. I do know I didn't pull the arms out as far as they would go...so maybe the overall length of each arm is 24".

Q: could you extend the arms across a door and then collapse when out of the way?

Sorry - i don't understand your question. Mine extend the width of the door, but don't collapse.

Q: Does this mean that the rods can be adjusted from 14 to 25 inches?

25" is the maximum for the WHOLE rod from the farthest edge of the part that screws into the wall to the very end of the rod where there is a ball to keep the curtain from falling off the rod. 19-1/2" is the maximum length of the part of the rod a curtain can hang from.
