Great Company, these speakers are the best I've used over a 27yr period,on radio power only or amp will wake them right up,I have them on a ts 800.4 on 1/4 gain with dsp and its nice and clear at high volumes,Im doing the prv 3 inch tweets next to fill in any lost frequencies,u can't beat for the money,U need to be sure ur head unit has enough power to just run off head unit or u will need an amp,they don't like fords because of the low powered head units,pair them with the right components and ull have competition type of sound,they dominate sound competitions for a reason!

I like to restore old radios and I ran into one where the stereo speakers were shot, probably by applying extreme volume to them. Anyway, these two resolved the problem pretty well, except for two things. The magnets on these speakers are quite large and getting them to fit physically into the old radio cabinet was quite a challenge but they are in there now. The other problem, which is to be expected, is that these are termed "midbass" which caused a bit of a problem with this particular radio as it has a tone control which can produce an extreme bass which will translate to a distorted vibration if the radio is turned up too loud. Of course this can be regulated once the tone and volume are adjusted properly and then they put out a fine reproduction of sound. I suspect the original speakers were abused somewhere along the line as they both had the same problem but to the extent that they could only produce distorted sound. All in all, I would say these speakers are just fine if they are used properly in whatever system they are installed.
