Q: can the straps be changed?

Yes, it has 22mm straps, you might need a special watchmakers tool which has a small U shape at one end to fit in the gap between the watch and strap to push down one side of the pin to get the strap off. Sometimes you can do it with a tiny jewellers screw driver (flat).

Q: Can it be changed to military time?

Yes it can! I did it immediately after taking it out of the packaging. 1. Hold down the SET button until it the seconds count icon starts flashing.2. Click the MODE button six times until you see a 12 flashing in the top right corner of the screen. There will be an HR icon across from it on the top left.3. Click the ADJ button once to switch from 12 hour to 24 hour.Use this same process to switch back to the standard 12 hour cycle at a later time if desired. Hope this helps.
