I absolutely love this watch! It's beautiful 😍 I did have to watch a YouTube video to set the time. Was a little hard to figure out.

It looks like buying this watch is a gamble. Mine arrived with a wristband reeking of cheap perfume, so I'm guessing it had already been returned once by another purchaser. I should have followed suit and returned it on day one, but decided instead to try to work with it. Okay. First, carefully following the enclosed instruction sheet, I tried to remove the band, to see whether soaking the band in vinegar might not get some of the perfume out. The instruction sheet, however, was incorrect: the band is definitely not removable. So, thinking it unwise to soak the watch itself in vinegar, I put both watch and band out in the sun for a week or two, hoping that the disgusting candy stench would dissipate. One day, while I was out there sniffing to see if any progress was being made, I noticed that the display was off (for my time zone) by exactly three hours. So, I fetched the instruction sheet and proceeded to try to reset the date and time. After a couple of hours of trying, off and on, to follow the cryptic instructions, it became painfully (literally painful: I gave up trying just moment before my fingertips started to bleed from alternately pressing and holding-in, as directed, buttons A, B, or C) obvious that instruction sheet was wrong again. I should have heeded those reviewers who had posted warnings about the impossibility of setting the time and date on this thing, as should you. I finally threw this watch in the trash because, believing (from the smell) that it had already been returned, once, by a previous customer, I figured that if I returned it, too, the seller might just resell it to a third customer. I decided to spare that third party the frustration and pain and to do the right thing.

I purchased the watch for my daughter and had it sent to her home. She’s losing her eye sight and dL needed a large face that she could see. When she got it she fell in love with it immediately. She could never set the time and exchanged it for another exact watch. I need to say that several adults in her life tried to set the time on the first one as well to no avail. That one wouldn’t set either so she called Amitron direct and they tried to help her set the time by phone directions. It ended up with them telling her to send it in and they would set it up for her. When she asked what would she do when the time changed in the fall they told her she would have to send it in again. She was so disappointed and so was I. It’s a beautiful watch but sadly very difficult to get working.

I've been wearing armitron watches for 10+ years and they take a LOT of abuse in my career field. I did notice though that these square ones in particular do get scratched pretty easily. I still wear it though! I do wish however, that the date was displayed on the screen rather than having to click a button to view it. Overall, I love these watches!
