Denon Professional Commander Sport | Water Resistant Portable PA Speaker

I was shopping the Bose S1 and the JBL One Compact all in one PA's to use for wedding ceremonies that require a 2nd setup when I ran across this unit on one of the comparison pages. I did a lot of research on it, called Denon with some questions, and decided to give one a shot at $200 less than the other units. I thought worse case I could always send it back and buy one of the others.Today it arrived and I put it through my pre-planned test. I already had 3 ceremony songs on an SD card so out to the backyard we went. I set it up to listen to from diagonally across my yard, maybe 100 feet. I set the volume for the card and the master at 3'Oclock and was amazed at how loud and crystal clear the music was that far away. I tweaked the lows and mids a touch and was even more impressed.Next came the test that so many had complained about... the included wireless microphone. It synced up very quickly so I set the volume at noon and walked across the yard. It made it most of the way (probably about 60') before it started cutting out. Next I put my body between the mic and the unit. It lost maybe 10' of distance but the connection was solid everywhere in the yard up to that 50'. Then I tried behind my fat trunked oak tree and of course it cut out completely. The mic sounds good enough to use for ceremonies which is a bonus. I was already resigned to using one of my other wireless mics with it because of the bad reviews. The talk over feature is excellent. As soon as you start talking the music fades and when you finish it goes right back up. This unit is exactly what I needed for wedding ceremony music and vows.This thing is built like a tank. There is a lot of rubber skin and both compartments are sealed up tight which gives it water resistance. The weight is easily manageable and the controls are very simple and seem well built. The MP3 player was fast to respond and instantly started the song I selected each time. If the battery life lives up to it's claims this unit has a lot of different uses.This sounds so good it's hard to imagine that the Bose or JBL sound that much better to be worth $200 more. The features on this are better than the Bose, and the cabinet is better than either one.I'll update this review after I've had it for a while if anything happens that changes my view.

Product had a $200 price drop between purchasing and delivery. Company would not issue a price guarantee, which I believe is a common practice. Returned product on my own postage ($60) and then they charge a restocking fee of over $160. Absolutely horrible customer service and miserable to deal with. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

I got this as a portable amp for my synthesizer keyboard, and it's only OK for that but as expected. What I, as an audiophile, did not expect was the musical fidelity this "Denon Sport" provides when paired with any bluetooth streaming source. Honestly, for most of you folks out there, this could be the ideal sound system for your summer home, or home period. It has a long battery life, an extendable handle, and wheels. What I mean by "fidelity" here: I own two of these now, and am listening to a Beethoven Piano Concerto. Folks, this is good enough to be suitable for the study of music, and you can wheel it from room to room ... WHILE it is playing Beethoven streaming from your iPhone etc. This would be the ideal gift for your music-loving kid going off to college (though it is neither small nor light). You could absolutely power a small dance party with this, too (though not at club volume, for sure). Really sounds great. Is it powerful enough for PA use? The reviews say no, and so does my experience with this outdoors. There's a wireless mic included, but that's not my thing. World's best boombox, bar none. I mean, soaring guitar solos sound very fine on this thing.

Have gone through a lot of portable speakers as an event coordinator and this one is my favorite so far. Love how easy it is to use and love not being hindered with cords.

本体はバッテリーが入っているのでさすがに軽くはないです。無線の機動力と音質の良さはかなりいいです。古い有線式のアンプスピーカーが壊れたので、電池式の拡声器（ハンドマイク）を代替で使ったのですが、屋外でスーツを着て町会行事の挨拶するにしても、ちょっといただけない絵面でした。ブルートゥースで音楽も飛ばせるので、祭りの後の反省会で小さめに音楽を流して焼きそばを食べるのもおつなものです☆防災訓練で来年使います！追記です。途切れる原因の2つがわかりました。一つはマイクの下部分（電池が収まっている所辺り）がアンテナになっているのか、持つ手が下を握りすぎると途切れやすいです。もう一つは、マイクとスピーカーの間に誰かしら体が入り込むと途切れます。話している人が振り向いて自分の体がスピーカーとの間に入ったり、話している人の前を他の人が横切ったりすると途切れる事が多かったので、その点に気を付けたら途切れなくなりました。
