VINTAGE ICON SERIES - DISTRESSED TOBACCO SUNBURST

Great guitar, although the back of this guitar had a factory relic'ing that simply didn't look realistic. It looked like as if its paint chipped off in pieces rather than gradually worn out by a gigging guitar owner. Granted, I've relic'ed tens of guitars in the past, so an hour later it looked rather believable and up to my standard.Bridge aging looks convincing, tulip tuners looked way too rusty though, no vintage guitars age like that - unless left in the damp for many years, so I had to remove with my brass brush that excessive layer of rust, so tuners look more natural now.Also, plastic tuner "tulip" parts were covered in some sort of lacquer that made them look as if they were kept in the heat of the sun, which made their surface look rather uneven. Vintage tuners simply wouldn't age like that, they would be smooth. Thirty minutes later and with a little help of steel wool all lacquer was gone.In terms of its colour tuner plastic looks believable, at least to my standards.Speaking of the build quality it's a good guitar. It never meant to compete with a "real thing", but then it is ten times cheaper than the original LP, yet is a solidly built instrument that wouldn't force you to remortgage your house and make a certain guitar maker even richer. If you're after good guitar that looks great and plays well - look no further, get this axe.
