I found it necessary to isolate a section of my plumbing system to allow me to work on another part and the blank cap worked perfectly.

Given the price plumbers charge these days I have started to do basic plumbing like changing taps etc myself. As a result I started to build up a few plumbing tools and initially bought these caps to block off a pipe if I ever needed to. What I didn't imagine was that a couple of weeks later the mixer tap on the bath started dripping like mad and having those horrid ceramic cartridges in the taps, you couldn't tighten the taps any tighter. Wondering how I can stop the drips until I replaced the tap, I soon found that these caps fitted the shower hose outlet on the tap. So taking off the shower hose, fitting one of these caps and turning the lever on the tap to the shower head position, diverted the water from the taps and stopped the dripping for about a week until we then changed the tap. So the caps are only a small thing but great to get just for the tool box as you will never know when you need them. (Note they do not come with washers so you also need a 1/2" washer to put inside them)

I removed a radiator, but the thermostatic valve would not fully turn off and was dripping. I used one of theses to blank it off. However I found it needs a rubber washer insert as it weeped after fitting without one.

All good. Fit for purpose. Solid seal. In some cases, a rubber washer should be used to ensure closures against leaks.

Seems as described. Can't give 5 stars, but only because I have bought this in case of need and so have not had a chance to test.
