REOLINK cameras and Support Services are Excellent
I've been working with security cameras/systems from a number of manufacturers large and small for 15 years. This time I needed an affordable and rugged outdoor wireless camera system for a property I manage, to be used for security "in-between" tenants.I choose the Reolink RLC-511W wi-fi camera and bought 3. Setup was straightforward. I did have an issue receiving SMS/email notifications which ended up being a Google's g-mail security issue that was resolved. Probably what impressed me the most about Reolink was their outstanding Customer Tech Support. Although the support was via email, the Reolink response was FAST (4 separate exchanges). The response I've received in the past from some other equipment suppliers has not been anywhere nearly as quick or helpful.Everything REOLINK works great and all three of the 5 megapixel 4x optical zoom cameras are connected via a MOXEE $49 mobile hotspot on a 4GB $25/month prepaid Straighttalk plan. I'm 60% through the prepaid month and the cams have used less than half the prepaid monthly data. The night vision, motion detection and picture quality are all excellent. The cameras are heavy and built like little metal tanks. Very impressive for the $.For disclosure purposes, I do not work for Reolink or Amazon in any capacity, have received nothing nor been promised anything for writing this quick review. Just really nice to find a well supported product.

Great Camera so far
This camera is hopefully the end of a long road to find the best security camera for my needs and is no word of a lie the fifth camera I've tried. I have tried Firstrend, Yi, SV3C PTZ, and Jennov PTZ cameras. Firstrend has had connection issues (cameras dropping out) no matter what I've tried, Yi worked great BUT wanted you to pay a monthly/yearly fee to have access to your videos, SV3C PTZ worked great for about a month and then the wifi dropped and would not come back, Jennov PTZ would not connect to my network. I’m using a Netgear ORBI wifi system with two satellites, so range connectivity is not an issue. So here we are with the Reolink, First impressions have been great so far.Pros:The camera its self is nicely made with a metal body.Setting up was super easy, as soon as I opened the phone app it found the camera and added it.Video quality is amazingly clear (see pic, the spiders seem to like it too). The fact it works with both 2.4ghz and 5ghz is huge. Most IP cameras only work with 2.4ghzConnecting through the phone app has been ok, it can be a little slow connecting. The computer app is easy also it works on both PC and MAC (big plus) compared to the other cameras which only work with PCs.Cons:Unboxing it seemed to be missing caps for the reset button and LAN port so I had to tape them.Like I said connecting through the phone app can be slowI did have a difficult time setting up email notices using Gmail and under up using Yahoo mail instead. Gmail just would not work.Motion detection is very sensitive even at the lowest setting I keep getting false notices. Last night we had rain and setting it off so much I just turned it off and as you can see in the night picture spiders have mad a web in front of the lens which is setting the detection off as well. ( I’ll fix that in the am).So overall I'm very happy with this camera, hopefully it will continue to impress me if so I’ll pick up a few more and hopefully the wifi PTZ version.

Really pleased but some reservations
Easy to set up on mobile device. Love that it works with Alexa although the linking procedure is a bit cumbersome. Slight delay (several seconds) before it connects with Alexa but nothing to really complain about. Bonus is that I was also able to download software to my desktop and can monitor through that as well. Installation was a bit awkward (could be me) but picture and sound are great. Like it so much that I have ordered two more to cover other areas that I want monitored.8/12/2020 update: The desktop application is not as intuitive as I would like and there is no manual or online instructions for how to use some of the features. Also, the plug blocks the second outlet in the outlet box so I cannot plug in a second item (low voltage lighting). Otherwise, I am really pleased with this camera and its features and would definitely recommend it.8/30/2020 additional update: After working for several days, the first camera (front yard) dropped reception. Within a day or so, the second camera (driveway) also dropped reception. Both cameras are wall mounted to the same corner room, one camera faces east, the other south. The third camera (porch) continued to function. After reading about various issues, I determined that the wifi signal was too weak to be reliable to the front yard and driveway cameras. I invested in a mesh network (Eero Pro). I followed setup for the mesh network and the driveway camera came back online briefly. The front yard camera did not. Several emails to Reolink did not correct the problem and it was determined that the cameras needed to be reconnected through the LAN port so that they could find the wifi network. These cameras were already wall mounted and I did not want to remove them and then reinstall them. I took one of the Eero devices (they have LAN ports), an extension cord, and an ethernet cable out to the cameras. I was able to establish connection with a LAN device through this process and both cameras are again functioning. While I still give the cameras a high rating, I have reduced that rating from five to four stars based on the inability to establish connections without the use of an ethernet cable. If I change internet providers and the wifi changes, will this happen again? The cameras have settings to allow the user to choose the connection but the camera must be online in order to use those settings. This is a design flaw that needs to be corrected. The user needs to be able to access this ability without the camera actually being online. Not everyone may be able to work around this problem with extension cords, mesh network devices, and ethernet cables. And, not everyone may want to install, remove, and then reinstall these devices if the network changes. Had I not been able to work around this issue and had to remove the cameras, I would have returned them because of this.

Pros y contras
