From 1 Star to 3 Stars.....here's why......
7/23/2014I'm not sure who is reviewing this item but I'm here to tell you that even at this price, this fry basket is a waste of money! True, it's sturdy but it's also oversized so if you're trying to put a top over it (with a steam release of course) you can forget about it because it doesn't stay leveled in a standard fryer.Not to mention the way this thing sticks! You can spray it down with Pam until the can runs out and no matter what, the food always sticks to it! By the time you fight with the food to detach itself from this thing, is it ruined! I definitely would not buy it again and if you're reading the other reviews, read them over again and you might find something very "similar" between all of them! Good luck!Update: 09/30/2016 - I took the advice of one of the commenters below and put the basket in the oil, waited for it to get up to 365° before putting the food in the basket. The food stuck but definitely not as much as it did before. I also bought another one (from Webstaurant) that was the same size as this one and used it in the same fry pot as I used this one and the new one also didn't stick as much as this one. So I'm changing my rating from 1 star to 3 stars because it does work, just not as effectual as others I've tried.

It is really nice and I have used it in my cast iron ...
It is really nice and I have used it in my cast iron dutch oven but, I was a little disappointed as it was recommended with my Gran Pappy Fryer and it did not fit in there. It is a quality item anyway and I have other uses for it.

very sturdy made and that is why I gave it 5 ...
This was exactly what I was looking for, very sturdy made and that is why I gave it 5 stars. The down side is it wouldn't fit in the pot all the way the bottom and top are two different sizes, increases as it goes up. I was so disappointed because I have been looking for this particular product for a long time and was excited I found one only not to have it fit.

Wonderful value for the money. Sturdy and well made. Ain't nothing gunna bend or dent great valthis sucker! Nickle plated finish has held up well, turned slightly off color, but not much. And I abuse this thing, washing it while still hot as the chicken or fries cool. Highly recommend!

My one and only bone with this product is that it does not fit the fryer we have, which isn’t the products fault, except that it is advertised as being “frequently baught with” the fryer I have. Size and all. The basket was too large for the bucket. Poor advertising. That is all. The basket in and of itself gets five stars.

well made product! good quality for the price! is a decent size too not too big not too small! i love it.... will highly recommend.

Needs a hook.
Doesn't have hooks to hang on the edge of the fryer, but it is heavy duty. Just wish it had hooks.

i am not at all happy with this product
this item was advertised as an add on to the fry grandpappy. Item is too large to fit into deep fryer &was crushed durind shipping. i am not at all happy with this product. in the future this basket should not be misrepresented as going with fry grandpappy.i would like to send back & recieve one that fits or be given a refund if you do not have a SIX inch basket
