What's up with the bugs ? Is this sort of thing common among Porcini mushrooms?

None in mine either! Would have been interesting. They'd be dried and would have no added flavour to whatever you are cooking the mushrooms with. I've made lovely tasty soups and Hunter's stews - no bug has spoiled my creations yet!
