Where have you been all my life ?!?!
Wow! I am am an OCD clean freak and was selling a house that has been a rental for 20 years. When I saw the floor I was beside myself; it was disgusting! The vinyl in thevkitchen had likely only been "swiffered" fo years and dirt was cemented into every crevice. I knew it was a brush job, but I dreaded the thought. I got out ky hand steamer which worked, but doing the entire floor would take forever. I saw a floor steamer st Home Depot and thought "worth a try", came home, searched Amazon and bought this litte guy after aboutvan hour of research. It was beyond simple to put together and you just fill a small receptacle with water - no crazy cap like my hand steamer. It is light and glides great. The head swivels all directions making corners and uneven areas a snap. was up and steaming in minutes. The results were frightening. The floor literally changed color before my eyes. This steamer even lifted old paint drips off the floor snd made quick work of scuff marks. This little marvel got 20 years of grime out of every inch of the floor. It took me about 2 hours to do 250 sq ft; not because it is a slow machine, but because the floor was THAT disgusting. My learnings: 1) change the mop pad regularly. 2) go in multiple directions, like criss cross; not just a straight swipe. 3) Go slower on the back stroke for even better results. 4) Don't use with a polishing cleaner like Mop & Glow, just steam and then "Glow" after for a great shine! 5) If you are going to be doing many floors, buy more mop heads. I found even with a good rinsing, the dry pad cleans way better. As I only had 4 head pads, my friend followed my steaming with dry bath towels. I am going to buy 10 more mop heads so I can do my ehole house. 6) I left the little scrubber thing on the back fiwn in the working position for the entire job and it kicks butt. 7) Don't be afraid to let the steamer sit in a bad area for 30 seconds, I did, and years of stubborn dirt lifted right out. 8) Keeping with a small area, say 1' x 4' until it is as clean as you want it works better than multiple passes on a larger area - mainly because you can really see how clean it is getting. 9) I didn't use the fragrance disks until after the floor was spottless, then with a clean pad used the disks. They are nice, but not necessary. There were a few globs of God knows what stuck to the floor here and there that did mot come off with the regular process, but I let the steamer sut for 40 seconds then did a fingernail scrape and off they came.I tried it on my Pergo and it cleaned equally well, but wasn't shiny and dried funny. I used the steamer then used Orange Glow and a Wet Jet and the floor looked fabulous.I also used it on the tile in the bathroom which has the sanded grout. It worked very well, but not as well as my hsnd steamer. I think however it would mstch up if I let it sit on the grout a bit longer and then immediately wiped with a dry towel.I am going to buy another in case they stop making this model. It is AMAZING!

Bissell 19404 Steamer Review
I purchased this Bissell steam mop over a Shark, largely based upon the many positive reviews. I had used a friend's Shark and was very pleased with the job it did on my tile floors. I think the Bissell actually does a bit better job. Although slightly larger in dimensions, the articulated head connection allows it to fit easily into the tight space behind my toilet bowl and the low profile head gets under the front of my kitchen appliances and cabinets. I like the removable transparent water supply. It makes it easy to fill, see how much water is left and also remove to empty (recommended by Mfg.) when you finish using the steamer. More than enough power cord to traverse the typical kitchen w/o having to move to another plug in. The mop is easily attached and removed and machine washes clean. The fold down scrub brush is a bit of a disappointment. It requires foot pressure on it to adequately scrub grout lines and this can prove to be awkward when you are moving the mop on the floor. Not a deal killer, but it was touted as a feature. The mop does make a bit of noise (similar to a coffee percolator "perking") upon starting up and when it has run out of water, which is a handy reminder time to refill.Mine came with a "Carpet Steamer" attachment, which was not expected from the description given on line and I have not used it yet. Simply a plastic spacer that fits over the mop and allows the steamer to easily "float" over a carpeted floor. Not intended I think, for a deep carpet cleaning, but rather a light touch up or spot cleaning. In general, I am pleased with this product. It works as advertised and appears to be sturdily built. Time using it will tell if it holds up.

Good for mopping
This was so great to add to mopping routine. It’s perfect for steam mop and sanitizing. I do my regular mop routine then steam mop at the end. Always have my floors squeaky clean.

Overall a great steamer
Am using this every other day on Porcelain tile floors. It steams well but is very powerful even on the low setting. I am using on my old laminate wood floors but am careful to go fast and not let the steam sit. When I first got it I damaged my new laminate wood in the living room. The edge of a board started to bubble and lift. And that was just a once over. So, those are still being done by hand. This works great in the bathroom and kitchen. I like how the head swivels (see photo). However, it does not work on grout. I suppose you could steam the grout and then go back in with a grout brush and then mop to lift out the crud. But I got the wrong impression from reading a review where the lady said it miraculously cleaned her 10 year old funky grout. No way, not happening! Also, you will most likely need extra pads. I use two for each floor every time. Wash them with oxyclean in hot water since they get really dirty. (see photo - surprisingly the floor didn't look so bad to the naked eye.) They recommend using distilled water but I use filtered tap water from my Waterlogic. It has a nice LONG cord. It will stand independently if you position the handle straight up but it is not very sturdy. They have a thin plastic base you can insert it into to hold it upright (see photo). I like it though. My little dog was reacting badly to the Pinesol we cleaned the floors with before. This steamer is allergy free and looks just as good.
