Extremely well-made. Very heat-resistant: you can lean it on the side of the pot (within reason) and the silicone handle won’t melt. Nice, soft, lightly rounded bottom with a very still spine starting 3/4” from the bottom. Terrific for stirring and scraping - and even deglazing! We’ve now tossed most of our other spatulas in favor of these!

This spoonula is by far and away my favorite tool in the kitchen! So much so that I've purchased 3 more over the course of a year because I hated when it was in the dishwasher and I couldn't use it. I literally use it for everything! Scrambled eggs, deglazing, baking, stir-frying, mixing, breaking up ground beef in the pan (even frozen!) and of course, it's perfect for regular ol' stirring and serving. It's the perfect tool for deglazing your Instant Pot, making sauces, sauteeing...the uses are literally endless. I use it one way or another for every single meal. They're so well made and sturdy that no matter what I've cooked 3 meals a day with them and they've all performed perfectly. It goes through the dishwasher and also rinses off beautifully. I'm actually really surprised by some of the negative reviews I've read. I use and abuse these spoonulas daily and I've never had a single issue. I honestly can't tell my 2 year old spoonula from my newest one. I will admit, it can have a tendency to retain the soap smell when I wash it by hand, but I just give it a really thorough rinse and it's fine. I love these so much, and I'm so happy with the quality, I just ordered the entire utensil set plus 2 more spoonulas. Give it a chance. I'm convinced it'll become one of you go-to tools in the kitchen too!

Several months ago, I bought all of the StarPack products. Very glad to see they are now offering individual items. When I get cooking, I go through a lot of utensils! If I were suddenly transported to the set of "Cut Throat Kitchen" and had a sabotage of having only one utensil to use, this spoonula would be my pick. It is extremely versatile - it can act as a spoon, a mixer, a scraper, a smacker and even a "breaker upper". I have used this item to deglaze pans and get the last bit of browned goodness into sauces - does an outstanding job without scratching the pans. Even the most stubborn bits of food have come up. Like all of the other StarPack silicone utensils, this one is well made, hefty, one piece and well balanced. The flat tip makes scraping the bottom of a pan easy, the curved sides easily get the side of the pot and the slight "cup" allows you to lift food items. I use this tool frequently - it's great for flipping and stirring ground beef, stew beef, onions, etc while browning . Not that most people would ever need it for such, but it even works great to give a quick smack to furry four legged friends. A few weeks ago, I was lifting a VERY hot quarter pan out of the oven which had roasted veggies on it. Somehow or another, I got my hand on the hot metal. I dropped the pan, spilling smoking hot veggies all over the floor. My first instinct was to get that pan off the floor before it melted the vinyl - but while I was struggling with that, 4 dogs who live by the rule "if it hits the floor it's ours" came running. The last thing I needed was 4 burned tiny tongues - and the only weapon at hand was this spoonula. I quickly smacked all 4 dogs on the nose whilst yelling NO. Meantime, hubby ran for the dust pan while I kept the dogs at bay. This spoonula gave them pause about continuing to try to get the veggies while I got them off the floor and into the dustpan before anyone got hurt. To digress a bit - did you know that salt will stop a burn in it's tracks? My brother had told me that awhile back. The pain was intense and my fingers were starting to blister, so I tried it. Wet the area and poured kosher salt on the fingers, left the salt on for about 5 minutes. The salt INSTANTLY stopped the pain and even the blisters that had started to form disappeared. All's well that ends well! This is a great tool - glad it's now available separately as I wanted to have two but didn't want to buy another set just to get one or two items.

I’m kind of crazy when it comes to kitchen gear and gadgets. I read reviews from America’s Test Kitchen, Wirecutter, Serious Eats, the Strategist, etc, along with scores of positive and negative reviews here on Amazon before I decide. Often, faced with indecision, I order multiple tools and decide what I like later. I can’t recall if this “spoonula” was on any of those lists, or why I bought it over two years ago. But let me tell you, it is, by far, the tool I reach for the most. Stirring roux, sautéing, scraping a mixer a bowl to get every last drop, stirring pancake batter, getting everything from my Vitamix or Cuisinart food processor, you name it - this is what I reach for. It’s not very flat so flipping eggs or chops is not what it’s best suited for. But for anything baking or sauces, and a lot of jobs I’m probably forgetting, it’s ideal. Also washes almost instantly, with no corners or nooks or multiple materials to contend with. Another reason I grab it first. I have different shapes of spatulas and spoons from Rubbermaid commercial, OXO, Di Oro, and various wooden ones. They all find their use. But this is my desert island kitchen utensil! UPDATE DEC 2025: This WAS the best. But I bought one earlier this year and the head of the spoonula now flexes. Any time I try to stir or scrape a heavy dough, or press with any force whatsoever, the head bends. Today, stirring chocolate chips into cookie dough, it bent to a 90° angle, making it unusable. Didn’t break, and bent back into shape, but not a rigid design like the older ones I bought in 2020 and 2022. Really wish I didn’t give that one away! I returned the first one and reordered, hoping I got a dud. Nope, they’re just crappy now. Also, I ordered the 2nd because when using it for Italian tomato sauces, it holds onto that odor for months. Figured I’d keep a red one for sauce and a grey one for baking. There goes that plan. I will try ordering one more since it’s been at least 6 months, maybe they fixed it, as I’ve read no recent complaints. But if it’s like the last ones, I’m moving on from Starpack utensils. UPDATE Dec 2025: I reached out to Starpack directly, and they had no problem sending me another spoonula that functions just as well as my first one! Very responsive and they asked for pics so that they could should their manufacturer the issue and make sure it didn’t happen moving forward. Excellent customer service, and still an excellent product!

I like the sleek look of this spatula. It has a nice heft and handles well for stir-frying. It does not bend like other cheaper spatula. The sides are shaped such that one could easily scrap the sides of the pan. Very happy with this purchase.
