MÜHLE VIVO Plum Wood Pure Badger Shaving Brush - Luxury Shave Brush for Men, Rich Lather

I was surprised at how poorly the brush held up after literally six days of use. The wood is scuffed from the simple action of whipping up lather in a bowl and looks like it’s several years old already. The Mühle logo stamp is peeling off and doesn’t look very nice - again after six days. The brush is only okay. Not terribly soft, but not horrible. I would probably not buy again given the choice.

This smells like a rotten decaying dead animal (I'm not making that up - it really smells like a dead animal). It's as if someone picked up some road-kill and stripped the hair off and made a shaving brush. I followed the instructions thoroughly, including washing the brush before using - no help. I soaked it in soap overnight - three times - no help. I soaked it in vinegar; I dusted it with baking soda - no help. Using it to lather up some fragrant smelling shaving soap did not hide the smell. This is a bad product.UPDATE: Okay - five weeks after I bought this and used it, the dead animal smell went away and it's okay now.

I've had this brush for a while now, and am very impressed with it. I bought it to replace one I purchased at Art of Shaving. This is a far better construction than the AOS brush. It has very good bristle retention, although when I unpacked it there were bristles everywhere. I was afraid it would lose them like the AOS brush did, but once I had the chance to clean it the stray hairs disappeared. I haven't seen any loss since I first cleaned it, and that is a HUGE deal. The handle is very elegant and weighty. It feels more like a brush costing twice or three times as much. I will say that this doesn't feel as soft as Badger hair, which leads me to think that it's actually boar hair. The bristles are stout and course feeling, not as soft as the AOS brush. However, I would purchase this one again without hesitation. Quality construction is just as important as quality materials, but after losing half a brush to consistent bristle loss I will suffer the inaccurate description (I don't really buy the claim that it's genuine badger).

Had a silver tip and was nice, but, bristles started falling out and did not want to spend a lot to replace. Thus, bought this one. The brush was smaller than expected which I can live with. Lathers up nice. But, it has a bad odor when wet and hope that this is not a permanant thing. Would not buy again due to the foul smell!! Update: Have been using this brush and the smell went away after about a week. Now is no issue, and the brush is holding up well and not loosing any bristles.

Best brush I ever owned

Premium brush! The last Muhle lasted 5 years before I dropped it 5 feet to the tile floor... It hurt me to see it go. (Btw, I had dropped it MANY times before, so it was very sturdy! )

I’m a collector and user of all things “wet shaving.” This badger brush is great. Nice weight. Creates a rich lather. This is my favorite brush by far.

I bought this as a gift to replace the Mühle brush my husband currently uses. After trying many different brushes, this is definitely his favourite. Coarse enough to massage his skin pre shave and create a good lather but doesn’t scratch his face like some. He shaves most days, the last brush has lasted 3 years and still functional, so worth the money in terms of number of uses.

No bristle loss and looks great on the bathroom shelf!

Husband likes a wet shave and has found this brush to be excellent. It’s the second one he’s had so it must be good!

The best shaving brush I have purchased in years

Wer billig kauft, kauft zweimal. Hier reden wir über eine Handwerkskunst die noch händisch produziert wird. Kein Vergleich zu einem 5 € Rossmann/DM-Pinsel. Lieber ein paar Taler mehr hinlegen und was gescheites haben. Der Pinsel kommt in einer wertigen Verpackung. Habe echtes Dachshaar genommen und der Geruch stört mich nicht - verfliegt aber auch recht schnell. Passende Rasierschale und Halter dazu, schon steht das Highlight im Bad und macht was her. Kann es jedem Mann nur empfehlen. Liegt super in der Hand und verliert auch keine Haare. In Verbindung mit der ARKO-Seife klasse. Schönen festen und fluffigen Rasierschaum.
