Nice basic butter dish; only complaint is that certain brands of butter which are packed a bit wider than usual do not fit, so have to be trimmed! Just needs to be a little wider!

Lovely quality, lid fits the base very well, feels very sturdy and washes well in the dishwasher but . . . I must be particularly messy as there is no way I can sit the lid on the base without getting butter on the inside and, eventually, the outside. It's fine with a new block straight from the fridge but once you start using the butter, it does start making the base, and hence the lid, messier and messier. Maybe other people keep their dish in the fridge and the butter stays hard but I need it soft enough to spread straight away and, sadly, in doing so, it spreads around the edge of the lid too. It's a user fault, not a product fault.

Just what we were looking for and it's nearly the perfect size for UK supermarket butter.Update: After a couple of months use I have taken off 1 star because if I was to buy one again I would probably buy one slightly larger. Don't get me wrong, this one is great and fits supermarket butter perfectly, but you have to put the lid on perfectly each time and the butter has to be centred, something I can manage to do every time but my young daughter and wife can not, so the lid invariably always has a bit of butter smeared on the rim. Shame as apart from that it's great.

It's ok. I got it to replace a broken Kilner glass dish, which I have to say I preferred. But it's a good size and works fine.

It’s a pretty classic butter dish and good quality. The base is fine but the lid is just too small! A normal pat of butter barely fits and you have to be so precise in placing the lid back over the pat of butter without it going up the sides. This doesn’t help either with the handle/knob to lift it up is very small and not easy to hold on to! I wouldn’t recommend sadly.

I bought one of these for my mother-in-law, who loves it. Having recently stayed with her for two weeks, and used it every day, I can confirm that this is a most excellent butter dish. The handle on the cover is easy for older fingers to grasp, and we both like that it's solid, and not a loop. The cover is tall enough to comfortably sit over a standard 250g block of butter without smooshing, and sits nicely inside the tray. We both really like that the tray is deep enough to securely hold a block of butter but shallow enough to be able to easily use said butter with ease.In terms of aesthetics, the butter dish looks lovely, with a timeless design that's fitting for most kitchens (I imagine). Build quality is excellent, too, and not in any way delicate or flimsy. The fact that it's safe to go into the dishwasher and microwave is an added bonus. It's actually freezer and oven-safe too, and is the perfect size to use for a baked potato!I'm so impressed with the one I bought for my mother-in-law that I'm going to buy one for myself too!

I like spreadable butter in a tub but when a work colleague told me about Brittany butter with sea salt crystals I wanted some. Therefore I needed a butter dish. After looking at different types I chose this one.Am very pleased with it. A regular UK 250g pack of butter fits well - no need to trim it down.Easy to clean, looks nice on my worktop. Functional. Yay!
