Totally works for my dog
It has completely cured his separation anxiety. As I leave I spray a puff each morning into his doggie pen in the basement where he spends the day. He just settles himself on his bed with his favorite toy or in his crate (door open) and couldn't care less that I'm closing the gate to his area and leaving. No barking, no jumping, no reaction at all other than calm acceptance of his routine. I don't even have to spray it very day now, I'm weaning him off it but will always keep some on hand to refresh the scent in his area occasionally. It took about three weeks of consistent use to reach maximum effectiveness so don't give up to quickly.I find that the "stop that" spray also works with him- we had an issue with his treatment of the cat which is now much better and with some occasional nuisance barking which was quickly curbed.I understand that this pheromone based product won't work for all dogs but it's certainly worth a try!

DON’T YOUR MONEY!!
Bought this to help my puppy calm to ride I. His seatbelt in the backseat. The only thing that works is the smell. It smells good but does not work at all. 20.00 for a can of smell good air? Ridiculous!! When I purchased it is said free returns then I go to return it and said it is ineligible?? What what a rip off. Thanks for taking my money !! Don’t get jooped like I did!! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Just didn’t make a difference
Didn’t do anything for my dog. Lol. Everything else was great. Smell. Value. Ease of use. Just didn’t affect my dog in any way.

Trying it for separation anxiety
I give the inside of my dog's crate a couple of sprays when I have to put him in there to run short errands. He was a shelter dog adopted at 9 months age who has terrible separation anxiety. He just panics when he is left alone. It seems this may be common with shelter dogs, but I think many dogs with stable environments have this too. My veterinarian suggested (among other things) trying pheromone. I bought the Sentry spray and collar as well, but we tend not to leave the collar on full time because we aren't crazy about the fragrance it leaves on him. Our dog is gradually calming down but I honestly can't say whether or how much of that is due to the pheromone or if he is just feeling better with time to adjust to things. He has had a lot of life changes so it's just hard to say with him. My vet said in studies it seems to help about half of dogs, so to me it was worth a try for a 50% chance of helping and no real risk of harm. Many reviewers on this site reported positive results which I believe are real results. I think it does help many dogs but maybe not others so you just have to try it to find out. The spray itself is easy to use and smells fine. It is not meant to use in large amounts or by spraying into the air but in small amounts on surfaces. You can also spray it onto their regular collar or bedding, or thundershirt if they use that. With dog anxiety problems I believe this is helpful in combination with the other important things- plenty of exercise, outdoor activity, socialization, discipline, nutrition, etc. I would not pin hopes on this as a miracle cure that can allow you to down-prioritize your dog's other needs but for us I think it has helped in the context of trying to optimize everything possible. One thing we started that I believe has helped a whole lot is taking him to dog day care 2-3 days a week. The play and socialization is just great for him physically and mentally, plus it allows us some time to take care of personal business without having to leave him in his crate terrified. This way we can let him practice shorter stays in his crate on a more deliberate schedule. He is doing better and better and I believe there are many things that contribute to that. I would recommend trying this for dog anxiety problems but keep an open mind, and realize the effect may be subtle and not immediate. It is inexpensive enough and not harmful, and even it if helps partially that is something. Also remember this cannot be a substitute for his other needs such as exercise, fresh air, and socialization.

Must have for new puppy!
I'm going to admit that I had a bit of snobbery. I had planned to purchase Adaptil's pheromone spray because it was one specifically mentioned in my dog training book. I figured you get what you pay for, right? But then I saw the price difference and figured I might as well try Sentry's product. We had an 8 week old puppy who was shy and insecure. When we brought him home he had never seen a crate. We had some very long nights sitting up with him trying to help him gain confidence to sleep in his crate. (We also did what many would probably gasp at. We filled a sock with rice, tied a knot in the end, sprayed it with calming spray, and heated it for 30 seconds in the microwave. It was the right shape to mimic his littermates and had some warmth to make him feel he wasn't alone in the crate. There is some risk in having rice in a pet bed. But for us, it was an acceptable risk as he hadn't chewed holes in any toy and we all desperately needed to sleep. He cuddled up with it right away and went to sleep.)This spray made a HUGE difference for him. I don't know if it was because it was so soon after he left his mother or what but it was really remarkable. We found it was most effect when we sprayed it as we took him out to pee then the smell disapates before he went back in. It seemed too strong for him otherwise. It does have a very strong lavender chamomile odor. I have quality essential oils in my house that don't smell like this so while they probably use essential oils in the product, I would guess they are more the perfume grade. If you're a migraine person, you'll probably want to skip this product. The smell isn't my favorite but then it isn't for me. Our pup seems to love it and the bonus is, when he climbs out of his bed the next morning he smells perfumed. Maybe not my favorite scent ever but he doesn't smell like dirty dog either.Update: Now that he is 7 mo. old this spray isn't as effective for him. However, it does seem to signal a time to be calm so while it doesn't have that sedative like effect, it does still help him to be a bit more relaxed. I dropped it down one star because I don't feel like it's as effective for an older dog and had he not associated the smell with his puppyhood, I'm not sure what effect it would have at all. But for our circumstances, it does still seem to do the job.

didn't work
i couldn't get any result with this. I have 3 dogs so I figured I'd see some results on at least one of them, but they all acted the exact same as when I didn't spray.
