I called a jeweller to ask if steam or utrasonic cleans better and I was told they both work. I chose this unit for price and convenience. It works well. As a test, I dabbed some hand lotion on my diamond ring and then cleaned it twice in the unit. It came out very shiny and the stone was completely clear of lotion and oils. It definitely cleaned better than simply soaking my rings in a tub of jewellery cleaner. The unit is small and can be easily stowed or left on the counter top. I bought this for my daughter for a Christmas gift and she loves it. She said it works great and is very happy with it. I would rate 5 stars but I have not seen it yet or used it. Overall very satisfied with it per my daughter.

The cleaner worked well for a single use and failed to power on thereafter. I even waited for a few hours to see if it was an issue of overheating, but the unit is completely dead. Stay away from the poorly made product.

I bought this jewelry cleaner a little over a year ago. It came with the solution and generally works very well on all types of metal and jewelry. However, I would NOT recommend this to people wanting to clean pavé stones or micro settings. My wedding set is mostly pavé and within the first year of getting this product, I had to replace not one, but THREE stones. First, one stone came out within a few months of using the cleaner. It was a little over a hundred bucks to buy a new stone and the jewelry store checked and made sure the setting was secure.I used it probably once a month. It made my ring so sparkly! But then, within another 6 months, two more stones had fallen out! This cost me several hundred dollars to repair. I quit using the sonic cleaner for my rings and started using an old toothbrush. Ring is still sparkling and no stones have fallen out after several months of cleaning weekly with the toothbrush!

Operation is simply and safe. Using just water, cleaning was fast (3 minutes) and complete. Another positive is that chemicals aren't necessary for routine cleaning.Good price and excellent features = a happy customer.

For less than $30, this is absolutely a winner! I use it ALOT. It cleans my diamond in 3 minutes and makes it sparkle! Love it! I also use it for eye glasses and can't believe how much "product" it cleans off.

Had to use this multiple times on my girlfriends ring. It loosened up the gunk and made everything shinny. had to use a few toothpicks to get all the gunk out.

Bought this for my mother-in-law. She used it right away and loved it! Would recommend. Well priced and good quality.
