the description doesn't tell you this.....but this is all 4 other books in 1 collection. My son was sooo excited to get the next book and was really happy it was so much bigger than all ther other books.... and it has the exact cover of Sea Demon... ok thats odd.... then the 4 sections in the book are sea demon, black anchor, eagle down and sniper sheild which are the names of the other books.....hmmmmm as soon as he started to read he said hey this is the first book!!!! it wouldve' been nice to know this so I could've just got this one instead of the other 4 as they are each the same price.....

My 10 year old son is pretty into military stuff of all kinds. This book was not well written in terms of character development and story build. The action in this story is almost journalistically described, its just really not artfully rendered in terms of story telling. If you are looking for a "just the facts" type flat military story, then you'll like these, but if you want to be held in suspense or emotionally moved at all - stay clear of this book.

This book is combined all 4 books. Our son already read Sea Demon first, yet other 3 books in one price was a bargain. He told me story is easily follow and able to imagine the scene from wordings. He read through in a week without any problem.

The book was good... Just my Kindle pages kept messing up though.

This 224-page book is actually a collection of Bowen's first four Shadow Squadron books: Sniper Shield, Sea Demon, Eagle Down, and Black Anchor.My son is 10, LOVES anything military, and reads occasionally. He devours these stories and re-reads them.

These short novels (there are four in this compilation) can be a great resource for middle school readers. A number of my male eighth grade students (many of whom read below grade level) have found these stories engaging.

My son loves this series.

My 8 year old son loves this series. Every time he gets another one of these books he cannot put it down.
