The Slasher Movie Book

I've always been a fan of any good horror movie. From the cheesy to the gory to the downright weird...I love them all. I had never heard about this book and it actually was a suggestion from Amazon for me. Very glad I purchased. The book does a great job of providing a well-rounded selection of movies to showcase. It also makes a great conversation piece and I've had many people pick it up and thumb through it when they see it. I'm hoping to end up watching each and every movie listed in the book. A great book for any horror movie buff!

Great book on slasher history and beautifully put together. Best part is the Halloween section.

I really enjoyed The Slasher Movie Book because it brought back all the joy I encountered upon seeing these films for the first time in my younger years. Just reading the reviews of the films inside this book and comparing them to my personal reviews was also quite fun. When all is said, this book brought back memories of my youth and how much of a challenge it was to see these fright flicks since the theater was the only real option available to view these films, how times have changed, now the theater is the option that almost does not exist anymore.

If you are a fan of slasher movies, then you should definitely pick this up. It covers most slasher films from Peeping Tom all the way to today. It also chronicles in the detail the golden era of slashers from 1978 - 1984. I must also note the quality of this book. You'll find a plethora of high quality photos and movie posters from hundreds of slasher movies. Of course they spend extra time on the grand daddys of the genre...Psycho, Halloween and Friday the 13th, but they also cover a lot of obscure slashers that probably haven't even been discussed since their inception! Highly recommended.

This is not a serious study of the slasher genre. The book has some very nice photos and reproductions of the posters.

Impressive, great killer images (pun intended) I found it fun that many of the lobby cards reproduction are Mexican, a mandatory purchase for slasher/ horror movie fans

This is a very disappointing book without clear organization. To often, the poster imagery didn't align to the film being discussed. It spent far too long chronicling pre-slasher horror films and then proceeded to miss films that directly fell into the slasher genre. All the writing felt superficial as well with most films just getting a tiny summary or review.I would have been happier with a book of poster art or a chronological list of slasher films.

I am a true horro fan, and my favorite type of horror movies are the slasher. This book is really great with lots of pictures and poster from all around the world. Mister Kerswell really knows his classics, and truly love the genre.Only bad point is that the binding of the book is really thin, there is not enough glue, so don't open the book to wide, or the glue will maybe crack.Appart that little bad point, the book is wonderfull !
