All four cups are the same size. This means you cannot fit the stair gate (in this case a very standard Lindam, the Amazon choice) flat on a solid floor because the lower cups are too large and lift the gate up off the floor. A different brand of cups I bought previously included smaller cups for the bottom fixings. Even then they only sat flush on stairs because they sank down into deep carpet. Luckily the depth of the skirting meant I could still fit the gate flush to the hard floor in the doorway, Otherwise these would have been useless for this purpose for the lower fittings.

A little fiddly to hold in place while you’re installing the gate. Leaves a bit of a mark on an Matt emulsioned wall, but better than drilling into it, and very secure

These are fab! An average size stair gate is slightly too narrow for my hallway - these made it fit perfectly and they stop any slipping when the gate is used or knocked accidentally. They haven’t marked my walls at all.

Simple to use. Effective at saving my wallpaper from damage and very grippy. My stair gates feel sturdier and safer.

Should have got this years ago! My son slam the gate and it is breaking the gate and the wall. This guards not only saved my walls but it made my new gate so much more stable. They are definitely worth the money, just for the walls alone.

They will fit on the top but not on the bottom of the gate if you want it to fit flush with the floor
