Absolutely Perfect – A Kitchen Must-Have! I couldn't be happier with the Umien Granite Mortar and Pestle Set! From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell this was a high-quality product. The granite is solid, heavy, and beautifully textured—exactly what you want for effective grinding and durability. It has a rustic, elegant look that adds character to my kitchen. Functionally, it’s a dream. I've used it to crush garlic, grind spices, make pesto, and even guacamole. Everything turns out smoother and more flavorful compared to using a food processor. The inner surface has just the right amount of roughness to help break down ingredients without being hard to clean. If you're serious about cooking or even just want to elevate your homemade meals, this is 100% worth it. Highly recommend!

This mortar is beautiful, big enough too, just over 3 cup. It came with a felt pad for the bottom. Be ready ut is heavy. Like any mortar it needed smoothing, feel the mortar surface, try to smooth thstvout. Simply put in 1.5 cups of water and start grinding the surface with the pestle. This process smooths the mortar surface and the pestle. Mine needs a second time, then it will be ready once it is dry pour uncooked rice in grind it into a powder. Once done, toss out the powder wash it omit out let it dry

This is a fantastic product. Does all you want, beautiful, sturdy, feet work as it doesnt move around while using. All around perfect.

Great quality; heavy duty.

I bought this for the sole purpose of crushing solid chunks of very hard Himalayan pink salt so I can grind down. The thing is massive and super sturdy probably 10-12lbs and works as expected. It's very rough in surface finish which is what you want in this type mortar so you can really grind and crush. The pestle is a little smaller than a baseball in the palm with good heft to do it's business. I also get the added bonus of being able to use it for Guac which is a family fave. With that being said it's a great product so far the only draw back if you buy is the initial seasoning. You must clear out all the grit prior to using it which is not difficult you just have to scrub the dickens out of it with a stiff brush under running water. I had to scrub and rinse about 6 times until the water was clear after that you're good to go.

I haven’t used this yet but the quality is good. You could use it for more than just Avacados. It’s nice and heavy too

I needed a larger mortar and pestle to make guacamole, as well as grinding dried herbs. This 3.5 cup size is perfect. It comes with an anti-scratch pad that prevents the granite from scratching the counter surface, affixed with self adhesive. While it does not say it is dishwasher safe, I have put it in my dishwasher with no issues. I chose not use the anti-scratch pad for that reason and place it on a silicone matt instead. The rounded end of the pestle club is comfortable to hold in your hand and has a good-sized grinding surface. I like how this sits firmly on the countertop. Mortars that sit on legs can tip when you are pressing down on firmer food. No way this mortar bowl will ever tip over! It is made of very sturdy, thick granite. The bonus avocado "knife" is a nice addition, too.

The size was perfect for my needs and workmanship was of a good quality. This is the first one I’ve ever bought a surprise that the granite was Porsche and not polished, but that’s probably the reason why you shouldn’t wash with soap. But works great and I make my own guacamole from recipes on YouTube.
