Indoor Air conditioner Tube Insulation Fix!
Using this welding mat as insulation cover for my inside air conditioner. I had no idea the tube from the air conditioner to to window would get so hot and be counterproductive to my air conditioner. Wrapping this blanket around the tube insulates it and keeps the hot temperature from reheating the inside aire on It’s way out the window. Without this blanket I could not use the air conditioner.

Works great, little small, not much less than much larger blankets from your local harbor freight
You can get a much larger one (more than twice the size) for not much more at a harbor freight or other hardware store for only slightly more, this is technically an emergency fire blanket you would have to smother a small fire with a little tag on the back that says "welding blanket" so too small to protect most anything, is use it to cover my stool I sit one that's about it, but none the less it is a fire proof or retardant fiber glass blanket that does exactly what it's supposed to.

Used Non-Traditionally
I have been using this blanket to reduce the heat coming off of a heater I am not able to turn off in the summer. The heater puts out heat even when it is not on from the pilot light and due to gas concerns I don't turn off the gas. Summers continue to be hotter and hotter it seems and without air conditioning I don't need any more heat coming into the room. By covering up the heater with this blanket I have reduced the heat radiating off of it considerably. I had read articles online where people had reduced heat coming off of radiators in apartments that can't be adjusted by using fire blankets, so I thought it was worth a try. Happy I did! And if I ever want to take up welding I bet it will be fantastic for that too.

Excellent product for my application which was . . .
I had to remove a corroded brake line from a fitting and I tried the best penetrating oil on the market and let it sit for two weeks - it didn't work. I tried 4 cans of freeze spray and that didn't work either. Finally I had to resort to a torch. The problem was, the direction the flame was coming from was heading directly to the gas tank, 3 inches away. I used this blanket folded up and put it between the gas tank and where I had to apply the flame. When I was done, I removed the blanket and the gas tank was stone cold. It did get a little singed from the flame in the area where the flame hit it, but is still reusable since it's so large and the singed area mostly doesn't matter because the blanket is fiberglass ( which means it's not soft).

Money well spent
My husband used this to keep from burning down the house. He installed some 1-inch diameter pipe for a hand rail at the steps that go from garage into kitchen. He knew that when he was welding this pipe against the house, there would be lots of sparks. He laid this fireproof cloth on and around the steps. When he finished the welding job for the hand rail, this cloth had many brown spots on it from the sparks. The house is still here - it didn't burn down or even start on fire. Money well spent.

Feeling peace and security - great safety product!
I bought this product specifically because we have small, high windows in the bedrooms at my house. I was worried that if there was ever a fire, it'd be difficult to escape out of the windows and more likely have to get through the house to the door. I have the Fire Blanket on a shelf with the end sticking out for easy and quick access to grab in case of a fire. This definitely has helped me feel safer in my home.

Definitely NOT Fire Resistance!!!
I'm extremely disappointed with this product! I purchased it for a friend who has a problem with neighbors who live above them dropping cigarette butts through the gaps in their patio floor. The butts would often land on my friends patio furniture, and on several occasions, have burned holes in some of their seat cushions. After replacing the cushions, I decided to purchase this blanket and tack it to my friends patio ceiling, which is their neighbors floor. We needed something that would not burn in the event that another butt fell through the ceiling. After spending an exhausting amount of time mounting this blanket, because of the products claims, we felt confident that their furniture would now be safe so we picked up some outdoor carpet to dress up the patio a bit. I took the time to cut the carpet so that it perfectly fit the patio. I also tacked it down to insure that it would never move. Again, time spent! The other day my friend woke up to find a hole burnt into the blanket AND a hole burnt into the NEW carpet that had JUST been laid!!!! I've included photos of both! My whole reason for buying this product was to project my friends property. The claims on this product suggest that it can be used as a welding blanket! I can't imagine how that's possible when it couldn't even stand up to a cigaret! I'm EXTREMELY disappoint at the time that was waisted mounting this to the patio ceiling. And I'm EXTREMELY disappointed that, as a result of trusting this products claims, property was damaged!
