Southbound/Fearless

While I would not consider myself a fan of "Country Western" music. I am a long time fan of the late Hoyt Axton and was lucky enough to see him perform at the Crazy Horse Saloon in Santa Ana California. Lucky me, the Crazy Horse didn't hold more than 200 people and our table was so close I could have reached out and shaken his hand. His music has always touched my soul and this CD has 25 great, clean, crisp tracks.

Very happy with this CD - Hoyt Axton had such a marvelous voice and it shines through in these songs. The CD quality is great - seems to have been remastered to bring some of the insturments to the forefront which I didn't hear in previous recordings. Great CD! Super Great artist! Am glad I can now finally enjoy him on my CD player and in the car.

I have always been a big Hoyt Axton fan. I saw him live several times, This CD (actually 2 of his albums back in the days of vinyl) is a wonderful tribute to him. Makes me happy to hear it. If you liked Hoyt Axton at all, you will love this CD.

I already had Hoyt's "The A&M Years", and did not realize that it constituted exactly the two albums Southbound and Fearless. My bad. But when I went to load it into iTunes, the album title came up as "The A&M Years", and then I checked and, sure enough, this CD is identical, just has a different name and cover. If you don't already have The A&M Years, this is a good buy for a couple of Hoyt's better albums, IMHO. Southbound, Snowblind Friend and Road Songs are my favorite of Hoyt's work. Wish he was still here to give us more!

Nice assortment of songs from the late, great Hoyt! This is the only cd that had "Jealous Man" on it.

I've been to his house, heard him all the time when I lived in LA back in the day. These two albums have so many of the songs he used to sing, except for a few, that I really loved and it's great to hear them again whenever I want. Wonder why I don't here him on the radio at all anymore??? Rene

If you like Hoyt Axton (and I really do) you will love this double album. Fearless is my favorite but Southbound is excellent, too.

I had these 2 album s on vinyl originally, and having them both on one CD now made it a necessary purchase for me. Very quick delivery, and well packaged.

I have been looking for this music for some time now and am completely satisfied with purchasing this. I'm a happy camper.

Though this CD misses some of Hoyt's work it is a great collection of songs. Great music, great lyrics (no love/dove cliches here).
