Best thriller ever (though his 3rd book is great too).
This is the book I wish I'd written. Page 1 is so good that whenever I tell people in conversation about it - they go out and and buy it. (I'm referring to when it was a new release).I lost my copy and have bought it again...and the final page and final sentence...wow!

The Best Suspense Novel There Is
I've been reading suspense novels for twenty years and still, this book, The Day After Tomorrow - is the best one I've ever read. Reason being: The opening paragraph kicks off the journey and you can feel the rage inside this young Dr. Osborne who sees the man who killed his father when he was 10 years old AND the other reason is because the books ends on the very LAST line. So from start to finish, Mr. Folsom did an incredible job of taking this plot and other sub-plots and creating a masterpiece.Secondly, his writing is excellent. You can have a great story and great characters but if you can't write intelligently, then you're screwed. I'll give you an example. On here, there is book for over 1000 four star reviews called "The Prettiest One." After reading 10 pages of that book, I put it back because the writing was juvenile. I wanted to like the story and the characters but the writing has to be believable and intelligent.Third, you will actually care about Dr. Osbourne and his supporting character, Detective McVey. This story takes place in London and the author does a great job of creating scenes you can visualize. The worlds that are introduced appear to be very real. All the characters act and do as they should. No one acts out of line or in an unbelievable sense. Some will say this book is too long. That there are too many characters. This book is long. But since I've ready five times or more, I myself couldn't edit it down any further nor would I want to.Lastly, the science behind this story also feels accurate and possible. The author explains this very well too.So if you have a few nights or a vacation coming up where you can sit and read for a long time and enjoy a well-written story, get this book! It truly is one the best. I wish he had written more like this but his second novel wasn't that great nor did it come near to this story. In fact, the first chapter, about five pages is one of the best chapters I've ever read. That's how great this book is. It should be required reading for any fiction writer.

typo mistakes
