Always my go to for coffee machine. Great product

I bought this official Philips product for the periodic descaling of my Philips 5400 bean to cup coffee machine. The first thing that struck me was that as you have to use the entire bottle of descaler when you’re running the descaling process, this makes the product pretty expensive. My previous coffee machine, a De’Longhi Eletta had a similarly priced official descaler but each bottle contained five doses! That said, I have been keen to use the approved descaling solution rather than a random unbranded one which might not work or might damage my machine. The process for descaling is pretty straightforward and this product seems to do the job very well. I’ve noticed that there are now some third party descaling products that are specifically designed for use with my machine. These offer two doses per bottle and are a similar price to the official one so offer a saving over this one. Maybe next time. I’m very happy with the product but the price concerns me; it is hard to understand why the value does not seem as good as solutions for other machines.
