Unreal, not even for the price
Genuinely blown away with this bass! Plays perfectly right out of the box. Feels great, plays great, looks great. I don’t think I can ever willingly go back to standard scale.

Recommend this over a Squier Affinity/Sonic
To get this out of the qay first:This was sold and shipped by Amazon at the time of purchase. They shipped it in the Ibanez box that had 2 small strips of packing tape on the sides. The bottom was wet with it being rainy and all.The bass: I'm impressed overall! Especially considering how I've been burned with Fender/Squier in recent times.Headstock/Tuners: 3/5head-heavy, mainly due to the tuners. Tuning quality can be improved. The E key was loose.Nut: 4/5they seem to be well done. Only issue is the E is cut a bit low which leads to buzzing on the upper register.Neck: 5/5Can't complain! No buzzing the rest of the way down. Fretboard can use oil but it’s not bone-dry to the point of being ashy like Squiers.Frets aren't polished but that's fine. They are acceptably leveled without any sharp ends. I've gone through 4 Fenders and 2 Squiers in the past year and they all have unseated/uneven frets.Body 4/5Really light which is great but leads to neck-dive.No scratches. Had 2 layers of plastic on the pickguard.Electronics 3.5/5Controls aren't scratchy but more on-off. Output jack in loose.Pickups are on the brighter side but can be easily EQ'd on the amp. I find this is better than brightening a dark pickup.Other hardware 5/5Haven't tried unscrewing anything yet but won't be surprised if these are budget screws. Strap knobs are the mushroom type which I find keeps straps better than the cone type. Bridge can't be swapped directly for a Fender Hi-mass but it's fine.

Impressive for the $$
Beautiful bass! Nice tone and I love the PJ split. Was afraid to get a full scale and am so happy I went with this. Plays great and looks great.

Comfy Short Scale
The electronics and factory fret dressing keep this from being a truly great instrument. However, a little setup, some flat wound strings, and of course, more chrome, and this thing comes makes a fun little player bass with a chunkier neck than the SoundGear series (more like ATK).P + J pickups give some variety. The middle position P pickup is significantly louder than the J on the one I purchased - to the point where it will clip if played too hard.
