This was the answer for our son.
We were living overseas and could not do all the supplements that were recommended by the author, but by following the diet plan which involved removing all possible food sources of ADD for 30 days, then slowly adding back each one bit by bit we found out what triggered my son's ADD. We could then avoid those food additives. What was amazing to me was that after we had been on the 30 day cleansing diet my son described how his brain was working better and the way he described it as a ten year old was a child's description of what the author had explained was happening. This book was literally a Godsend for us. I cannot recommend it highly enough. As a PS I would also add that if you can only add one supplement to your diet I would recommend omega-3 fatty acids. It is the critical nutritional supplement for the brain and memory. The best way to get this is with cold-pressed flax oil. Harder to get and more expensive than fish oil, but seems to work better. I personally was using it for something else and then found my own memory was tremendously better. (My son literally thought I was getting Alzheimers before I started). I put it in my morning smoothie. It should not be heated for cooking. Do not use Gingo Biloba in a child, it causes headaches and I found this out the hard way when I took some myself to help my own memory. I had been giving this to my son before I read the book because I had heard it helped with memory.

A good nutritional resource for a parent of a child with ADHD!
A good resource for a parent of a child with ADHD, but not necessarily an easy read.. provides more of a straight forward opinion, as opposed to providing many or multiple options on how to best serve your own child.

Left me unfulfilled
I found the information very confusing as written. Lots of information and some over my head. I will try some other books on the subject or just go to the internet.

Supplement industry consultant!
Part of the author's bio says she is a consultant to the supplement industry. No wonder. The list of (mostly unproven) supplements is looooooong and probably costly. I can't imagine a child or adolescent taking all of these. I'm looking for an alternative remedy for my child's ADD, but this book was no help. I'm returning it.

I introduced one new restriction per week when we went GF and it worked fine. E
This book helped me turn my mildly ADD son's life around and I will be forever grateful. From being 'slow' and spaced out he is now getting top grades. The child I always knew I had is coming through the brain fog.It is perfectly possible to follow it in the UK while cooking for a family. I believe the suggestions in it also contributed to getting rid of my other child's asthma. I introduced one new restriction per week when we went GF and it worked fine. E.g. Week one switch out bread and experiment to find a gF one that everyone liked. Week 2, same with pasta. Week 3, milk etc. Like that everyone felt that they had control. As I have read around more I have tweaked it. Read also the GAPS diet and look at WAPF food recommendations.I couldn't always find the precise supplements recommended but I got close by scouring Amazon. I bought pill boxes to make sure we had it all each day ready. Now, 3 years on, I have toned it back and lightened up. But when we started I was vigilant and determined.Just try. Do yourself a favour. If our experience is anything to go by, you won't look back. Even his school asked what we were doing and said keep it up.

A book about ADD just for SUPPLEMENTARY purposes ONLY.
Firstly, the book is too old, it was written in 1999. Most of the book describes alternatives treatments for ADD which i found them not effective or just a bit of effective. The alternative treatment the book elaborates on has to do with diet against ADD. It will work (very little) if you follow every recommendation by letter, but the results would be insignificant. That's for me. I don't know if it works for other people with ADD. The nice thing of the case is that it guides you through a healthy diet which has a positive overall impact to your health and hence it might help your ADD as well. It also makes you feel nice with your body because you lose extra weight which has a positive impact to your psychological feelings and maybe decrease the symptoms of ADD in someway. The bad thing on the recommend diet is that it eliminates the majority of foods that are available in the market and it's too difficult to feed yourself by only following the recommended nutrition mention in the book. However, it was a nice try.
