Grammar Choices for Graduate and Professional Writers (Michigan Series In English For Academic & Professional Purposes)

Grammar books are ok, but don't provide help in the context of graduate-level academic and scientific writing. This is one of several University of Michigan resources that are designed to address academic writing. My students are multilingual graduate students who struggle with formal writing assignment. Grammar Choices helps me understand complicated concepts and be able to teach them effectively.

Its an interesting book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.It gives a good perspective on negotiating tactics.

I haven't used it yet but, based on a perusal, it think it will work well for the class I will be teaching in Bangkok. I like the approach, one that I have seen used successfully in other textbooks on academic writing.

Delivery was on time. There was more personal writing and notes inside than I expected but most of them are in pencil.

There is no key to the exercises. I am using it as a reference for my PhD and not in any particular course so I wish to learn from it but cannot do so effectively as I do not have the answers. Very frustrating.

Este libro contiene las consideraciones más importantes a la hora de escribir artículos en inglés. Lo compré para un curso sobre escritura científica. Está muy bien organizado el contenido, es bastante claro y didáctico. Viene genial para tenerlo a mano y consultar cualquier duda a la hora de escribir artículos en inglés.

Lo encuentro sumamente para identificar errores gramaticales comunes en la redacción de trabajos en inglés. Ojalá todos los estudiantes de ciencias tuvieran un manual así en su biblioteca personal.
