Camera Positioning is Critical
I bought this because I wanted a wired solution. And this pretty much fits the bill. Some issues - positioning the camera is critical - the angle covered is quite narrow compared to some others, and it is very sensitive to light - I had to mask off part of our automatic porch light because it was washing out the picture. It also took some effort to adjust the picture so that it is adequate both day and night. It's a colour display, but I found I had to tune it down to black/white for night use.Installation was OK, although the power cord is very short, so I had to extend that. What I like about the unit is that although the camera switches on automatically when someone rings the doorbell (and then goes off after 90 secs), you can turn it on from the display any time you like, which is important to me.

Does the job - installation needs a bit of fore thought
This is not a bad unit and does the job quite well for those who can't cope with things like Amazon Blink / Ring door bells, etc. as it;s much easier to use and doesn't rely upon wifi to see who's at the door. It switches to IR in low light, but the IT light bleaches the face of the person at the door, so not great.Installation points worth noting:1. The cable between the doorbell and display has plugs on both ends that need hole much bigger than the cable width (at least 14mm to get the plug through),2. the hole needs to be right behind the camera's plug socket otherwise the doorbell won't mount properly on the door (there's no room at all for the cable to exit the socket and bend through any turn.

Great for piece of mind
Installed myself for elderly grandmother when her old one failed. Firstly the cable it comes with is only 5m, so I had to buy a 15m one separately and splice on the connectors to be able to run the cable from the front door to the living room to save her getting up every time. I didn’t connect to a lock as her door wasn’t suitable and wouldn’t have wanted her to be able to unlock it accidentally anyway. The instructions aren’t particularly clear, as the symbols on the main unit don’t match those on the leaflet, but it’s pretty intuitive to use. Picture and sound quality are great and it’s very unobtrusive. Couple of things that would make it better; the doorbell mount is flush, so had to craft a wooden support to get the right angle to view the approach to the front door. The viewing unit only comes with a wall mount, would be handy if it came with a stand too so you had more choice of where to put it.

Far easier than a wireless doorbell
I bought this to replace a Wireless doorbell that I recently purchased and gave up on.Very easy to get it to work, straight out of the box. The picture quality is good and no annoying delays like the Wireless type that gets displayed on your smart phone.Okay, I can't speak to a visitor if I'm not at home, but as we have opaque glass in our front door (if we put in a spy hole in the door between the opaque glass, visitors could see our shape through it) I can see who is there and decline to answer if I desire without the obvious embarrassment of the visitor knowing I was in!There's a bit more installation work as a wire has to be installed between the camera and the display etc, and that had to be extended in our case. A tech savvy person would prefer the Wireless type, but a DIY competent person can easily extend the wires (all low voltage) and plugs with wire tails are included in the box!The first chime in the setup is best (Ding -Dong), the rest are just annoying. The camera has to be positioned for the average height of visitors as it doesn't show the full height of the visitor if they are within 2 Metres.Other than that 10 out of 10. I just need to see how long it lasts!

not the Perfect one
overall it is okay but the plastic for screen is of poor quality. however the door bell is of good quality.the motion detection is just okay but the mic is very good. you need to almost touch the screen to talk.would not recommend

Don’t waste your money
First of all the length of cable is not 5m long, it’s 2.5 m. And secondly the power cable is too short. 👎

Excellent picture in night mode
This video doorbell is really good quality and easy to install, could have done with longer power cable and connector lead and was limited to where I could position the camera due to the cables but all in all very happy with my purchase.
