Easy, organized book; "Smooth" sailing for beginners
As a Smoothie novice, I needed to tell you that this book is written simply and concisely and even tho' it doesn't have pics, it is not a problem. Most of these are common sense by the listing of ingredients you can know what it basically will look like. The veggies that are sometimes included in some smoothies will perhaps tint it green, but happily, most of these appeal to me. The recipes are simple and not a million of ingredients in each one. She has 3 chapters at the start of the book that are required reading to make the recipes and layout make sense. Long story short, you can substitute any "milk" for another, from almond, hazelnut, coconut, etc...if a recipe says Hemp milk which I have no idea where to get that, you can put in another milk. Nothing hard about it. If it says pineapple juice, apple juice or carrot juice will work too. She lists the calories, fat, carbs, fiber, proteins, which to me is invaluable. Most are for one or two servings. And you can bump up the protein in any recipe on your own by adding another Tbs of hemp seed (my fave) or chia or flaxseed, protein powder, etc...you have leverage, you are not expected to follow each recipe to the letter, you can still make it with another ingredient to replace another....her third chapter lists each category of substitutions so that is your template. For a beginner like me, this is a great start. The calories by the way are not heavy or laden with lots of sugars/carbs. Most are snack size (150 or less calories) or meal replacement sized (over 250 cals). And if I like a snack size smoothie but want to make the protein more substantial thereby turning it into a meal replacement, I just bump up the protein. (her chapter 3 substitutions list is there too for protein choices). For now, I am happy with the book and layout and approach. I have tried countless smoothies so far, trying for one per day as a lunch replacement. I have purchased about three other books since this first one, and this one is still the best. Just keep your freezer stocked with bags of frozen berries and fruit and you're in like Flint. I just found a new smoothie using some frozen watermelon (I kept from the summer), half frozen banana, 1/4 cup of coconut water, and 1/4 cup no-fat greek yogurt, for one serving, it's AWESOME. Comes out like a refreshing slushie. I made it 2 days in a row, today maybe also. This book rocks.

Simply a great little book with wonderful Day by Day recipes for making Smoothies .I purchased this book with the plan for the Wife and myself to lose weight and deal with far better nutrition then we now practice. In my case figured my spoiled taste buds will drink some they won't eat! Offers the first 41 pages dedicated just to smoothy ingredients and their nutrition value to each drink in which they are used! Fussy eaters such as myself, should find something that their taste buds should enjoy ! The author Daniella Chase has no doubt worked exceptionally hard to create this great book !

Great Diet Help!
My goal was to lose weight and fast. I have osteoporosis and the pain level had finally gotten too high. So far I have lost 25 lbs and I'm still losing pounds and inches. The only fault I have with the book is most of the smoothie recipes lack vegetables.

Love this book!
I am a huge fan of smoothies and juices so this book was right up my ally. The thing that separates this book from others is that the smoothies were designed for what was in season and they would flow so that there was not any waste and I didn't have to buy a ton of ingredients every day. I am anxious to see if the author puts out a 365 Skinny Juices book any time soon.

Smoothies ok for diabetics.
Finally! I am a diabetic. Green smoothies that incorporate 5 fruits are not healthy for me. More is not better. This book gives me choices that are healthy for me and other diabetics. It really should be advertised as such. Thank you.

Be a world traveler to get some of the ingredients listed in some of the recipes!
It would be nice if this book used common, easy to get ingredients!! What is hemp milk??????? And Hazelnut milk... hulled hemp seed?? Oat milk??????? Whet city do you have to drive to in order to find some of these ingredients?? And these ingredients aren't used individually in just one or two recipies..... Hemp milk and hazelnut milk are used in quite a few recipies! Fortunately I downloaded the Kindle version which cost me less! I gave it three stars because there are a few good, low calorie recipies.

Love this book!
I love this book! Took it out of the library several times before purchasing. I love the year-round, what fruits and veggies are in season aspect to this book. The directions for making the smoothies are very basic and so relatively worthless, but the breadth of ingredients to use is awesome. It is my current go-to smoothie recipe book.
