Golden FoxWork Boots 6" American Heritage Moc Toe Wedge Boot for Construction Made in USA

They run a half size large and are a wide last. Good for my feet. The leather looks nice, but is a little on the thin side. very comfortable right out of the box with really no break in needed. The outsole is a little softer than my Red Wings or Thorogoods. Looks to be a paperboard insole with the rivets you find in cheaper chinese made boots. These will NOT hold up like a true heritage boot will, but you are not paying 300+ for them either. NOT A WORK BOOT. Too flimsy.

Recently got into boots and wanted to get a pair of brown moc toes. I did quite a bit of research until I decided upon the Golden Fox heritage moc toe boots. I normally wear a 10.5 or 11 in sneakers, so I went down a half size to 10 (typical with boots) and they fit as expected, maybe even a little more room because of the spacious toe box of the moc toe.First off, as you can see from the pics, these are really great looking boots. The brown (“brun”) is a perfect shade, and the leather is relatively shiny/water resistant to where you don’t need to apply mink oil just yet, so you’ll be able to keep the color for awhile.The leather is really soft and supple from the start. The heel is a tad wide, which, to be fair, I knew already from a review I watched on YouTube, but they said that goes away as they form to your feet when you break them in so that’s not an issue. I’ve found that simply adjusting my foot placement while lacing helps this so I have no doubt that it’s will fit better over time.There are no visual stitching defects, the Goodyear welt seems very solid.I bought some white laces to switch out to make the boots more casual but the laces they come with are really nice in person, so I’ll probably keep them on. They seem like good quality laces, however I wish they were a little thicker but that’s just my own preference — they look great.I now have the Golden Fox boondocker as well as the heritage moc toe and I’m really impressed with this company. I actually just ordered some insoles from their website because I was so impressed with their boots.Definitely give them the consideration if you’re getting into boots, I’m glad I saved a few hundred by picking them over Red Wing/Wolverine. Time will tell as far as durability, but I’m really happy with this purchase. You really can’t beat $150 for a pair of American made boots that are this nice.UPDATE: Took off a star because of fit. The heel is just too wide and causes too much slip. Make the heel like the boondockers and it would be fine! Probably going to sell them because they just don’t fit right, shame too because they are really nice.

These work shoes are great!!! My previous shoes were redwings chukkas and people mention their very comfortable, but these moc toes put them to shame. Super comfortable like a sneaker. The insole is great and removable if you prefer your own. The leather is soft and there is no break in required, but become way better with a couple of days. The only issues is that I didn't like is that I received the 1971 instead of the 1970 moc toe. I think the 1971 is waterproof and 1970 isn't. The welt is different and honestly I prefer the 1970 but maybe I get a discount next time. The sole is showing wear but I tend to wear out soles fast and the replacement soles are sold on the website for 18 bucks. Today I saw a bunch of work boots at a local store and I felt the inside of every boot that I liked and none of them felt like the Golden Fox heritage, not even there own Golden Fox line up. The 1971 heritage are great and if you like the appearance of the boot your going to love the shoes once you try them on. After more than 3 months of use they are still very comfortable and have that rugged used look that I like. The only issue is the sole. It wears out very fast. But I still highly recommend these boots. I already purchased another pair and these are the 1970 and are more to my taste appearance wise than the 1971, but with the same comfort.

These are the most comfortable boots I have ever had and i work on my feet all day. The shock absorption is amazing, and you can't really get better leather than full grain as quality goes in work boots, it molds to your foot like a glove. insole has tons of support cushion/thickness. Metal shank for uneven ground or ladders. I have used them for 3 weeks so far 6 days a week 10-12 hours a day I even put them on to walk around on Sundays they are so dang comfortable. Ive had 270$ boots with much less quality materials. Excellent job with these boots. I will be resoling and buying new ones when the time comes.

These Golden Fox boots fit as expected. Nice leather. Break-in was almost immediate. Very comfortable. Using pure mink oil - these boots warrant the best care. These boots are hand made in USA. Thanks to the folks at Golden Fox!

I returned these, they were too big and the leather wasn't going to hold up for work.

Honestly these are my favorite boots. Since I bought them I can’t stop wearing them. They are super comfortable and fit perfectly. You can see the craftsmanship of these being made in America. The cheap Chinese boots just don’t cut it. Trust me I’ve had a lot of them.
