Great resource for anyone looking to improve their relationship with food
This book was a required text for a mindful eating course I took in graduate school, and I have used it in practice many times since. It is a well-thought out resource that provides a helpful guide for therapists and individuals alike. Dr. Albers provides a clear description of mindful eating as well as specific strategies to improve one's relationship with food and eating. As a practitioner I find that the tools in this book are very helpful for clients with a variety of eating disorders. The activities throughout the book are practical and allow for quick application of the concepts presented. Great resource!

My doctor suggested this book and I'm so thankful she did. I have depression and anxiety, so sometimes eating can be a huge struggle for me. This book helped me become more aware of my problematic behaviors (not just with food, but overall mental and physical behaviors). It also helped me learn to judge myself less, especially when I make a mistake. This book has seriously helped me accept myself and taught me how to listen to my body's needs.

Eat Drink and be Mindful
Thank you Amazon, I'd tried several book shops before I tried you online. I'd always been reluctant to purchase anything online, but with the service provide by you I would definetly do it again.I have'nt finished reading the book but so far the information contained in it has been most helpful with my problem. In fact the stratagies recommended I have implemented and have started having success in my personal life.

Very holistic and helpful!
I really liked this product and would recommend it. The author has clearly spent a long time researching and working with mindless eating.The best part of the book is the background it provides - I really loved that we weren't just reading about mindlessness in food, but in all aspects of life. Makes it much more holistic. Also inspired me to pick up books on mindfulness in all parts of my life!

Realizing food with your mind.
I like the way this author talks about the relationship with food "moods" to your mind and body "moods". This new insight for me has helped to recognize the differences my body response to food by sight, smell and feel. I TOTALY recommend this book for those who have problems look and food as "Why I must not eat my favorite food because of Diets Said So!"

Excellent find!
This book was instrumental in aiding me to give up the 'inner critic/judge' that had me stopped with my eating (and other compulsive habits). The exercises helped me to be less judgmental of myself and look at WHY that behavior started and WHAT triggers the behavior, whether it's emotional eating or self-sabotaging habits. Excellent find!!!

I Finally Tasted Hunger....And Embraced It!
Definitely a workbook for mindfulness skill-building and embracing our fears surrounding eating and hunger. Albers demonstrates again and again that "the key to changing the way you eat is not discipline over what is on your fork, but mastery over your hungry mind." At only 164 pages, this handbook to savoring food and becoming whole through nourishment of body and mind is a sumptuous mouthful. Awesome Book
Have been involved with an eating disorder program at our local hospital and we have used this book extensively. I can't praise it enough. Went through it with a dietician and it changed my life!!!!!
