The paper instructions that come with this item aren’t very good. However, the video is very clear and very helpful.

Received product late yesterday evening.. Today, when ready to install, I opened package, read the instructions, reviewed the product in hand before beginning. I had already watched the video prior to deciding to purchase the bar. It seemed exactly what I needed for my 25+ years old, well-built 4 drawer steel filing cabinet.I'm a 71 year old woman with a cordless drill and bits accessories. I did change the bit to a 1/8 from the one provided because the included one just drilled too small of a hole for the screws to go in.I am more than pleased with the results!! I'd recommend this seller and this product to friends and family.Great product. I'm sure with a demo bar a serious criminal could get into the cabinet if they had time and tools, But this heavy duty locking bar would definitely not be a push over. Most certainly will keep any curious prying people from gaining access.Just need to purchase padlock to be complete. I'm thinking a combination lock rather than keyed will work better for my needs.

The bar was easy to install on my 4 drawer fire proof file cabinet. Quite a few reviews indicated that there was not a drill bit included with their product as advertised. At first, I thought the drill bit was also missing, but in the package with the black handle, the drill bit was right in the seem of the plastic package. Also, though the written installation instructions were not very good, the video for installation was very helpful. The bar secures all file drawers as this product advertises.

The locking bar is easy to install. fairly well made and a fair value. Overall worth getting. My real issue with it is the #8 screws that come with it. 8 holes must be drilled into the file cabinet and the #8 screws installed to secure it. I broke one screw with a manual screwdriver when I installed this. I recommend that a long machine screws with nuts and washers are used for at least the top and bottom hinge (there are 4 hinges) This will make it more pry resistant. I welded it to my cabinet since it's just sitting in my basement, The hole where the lock goes will not fit a Master lock #40, so I opened it up a bit with a drill bit. The material could be reinforced where the lock goes. This does not have a UL or TL listing, so it is probably going to by you 5 minutes protection from a thief.

Save me a lot work using only one key to open for drawers, in past I wasted 2 cabinets because I did not know about this product

The original key locking system on our over 50-year-old cement lined fireproof file cabinet safe broke and we had to get a locksmith to drill it open. So we needed a way to lock it.installed easily. The included drill bit struggled slightly to get through the heavy steel casing of the file cabinet, but was still good after 8 holes.Works great.

Before I retired, I worked in aerospace where these types of file cabinet lock were used.. So when I wanted to secure our file cabinet, I looked for this. It installs quickly (drill bit comes with the bar) and is easy to use. I bought this long one and previous bought a 2 drawer bar for another cabinet. I didn't want to use the key lock and just use the this bar lock with a combo lock. I also installed both bars on the left side since the keylock on the right side interferes with the bar.

We read the printed instructions and watched the detailed YouTube video on the installation. Everything worked as described, except that our filing cabinet was an old, sturdy one that had two layers of metal to drill through at each hole (about 1/4 inch apart - after getting through the first layer, you hit the inner layer). The drill bit did fine making the 16 holes; applied steady, gentle pressure and the bit was in good shape when we finished. Very pleased with the result - don't need to go out to buy a new filing cabinet!

This was simple and moderately easy to install. My filing cabinet didn't come with a lock and this now works very well.It does require some basic skills with a drill and screwdriver to install. Once installed, a padlock can be used to lock the cabinet.You can attach this on the left or right side to suit your application. A determined thief will be able to pry or hammer this off, but that isn't really the point. The point is that this will keep anyone from perusing your files.I am very happy with this solution. The included drill bit, extra screws and good instructions are all indicators of a good, well thought out product.

This was perfect for what I wanted. The original lock was broken and when I came across this I decided to try it. It was easy to install and works beautifully!

Very Good product, easy to instali, Great for the older file cabinets where the original push in locks cannot be bought today and are failing due to age.
