Revenge of the Horned Bunnies (Dragonbreath #6)

Very popular series with my youngest son!
My youngest is a former reluctant reader--now there is nothing reluctant about him and this is one of the pivotal series that helped him decide reading is fun. Nowadays I can find him doing the old flashlight under the covers trick with his Kindle and otherwise trying to sneak the Kindle or a paper book when he's not supposed to be reading (dinner time, shower time, bedtime etc). He just informed me that this series remains on the must-buy list....As the cover/blurb and other reviews show this book is about 'Danny Dragonbreath' and 'Wendell' who are featured in a series that involves an abundance of simple artwork, good narrative and, in this case, solving a crime to save the Jackalopes. It's fun, engaging and interesting to the elementary crowd without being too basic, while the artwork and style can appeal to those less than enthusiastic. The recommended age is for 8-11 year olds, and with a Lexile rating of 800 (the whole series ranges from 650-800, with the 650 being the first title) this has enough complexity to offer challenge to various levels of readers. Too often the books that are 'age appropriate' are not always 'content appropriate' so to speak, so this one is fun and good for the ones even younger who are reading well too.Highly Recommended, and in this case I do prefer the paper book over the Kindle--the art is better that way!JTGThe series in order: Dragonbreath, Book 1 Dragonbreath: Attack of the Ninja Frogs Dragonbreath: Curse of the Were-wiener Dragonbreath: Lair of the Bat Monster Dragonbreath: No Such Thing as Ghosts

Having trouble getting your 1-3rd graders to read. This is your serise
My 7y old son came home from school last year raving about how he found these awesome books in the school library. All the boys in the class were checking them out so he only got the opportunity to check it out for a short period of time. Anyway...he is one of those children that does not really enjoy reading. I used to have to force him to read for the required 20 minutes for homework. He loves the Dragonbreath books. Parts of the book are written in comic book style and their are an adequate amount of pictures to keep him entertained. I find him constantly laughing at the scenes in the books.

Great for 3rd-4th grade
My 7&9 year old boys loooove this series. We’ve bought every single one and they giggle throughout. It’s made nightly reading so much easier because they really look forward to it. My 7 year old is an advanced reader. 3rd-4th grade is a good level for this book.

Anything that gets my nephews to read!
My nephews love to read, so I love to buy books to fan the flames of their imagination. We’ve run through many series but this is a new favorite, for his birthday I asked if he’d like “ a bit of money, or several books” he said several books 😁 so I procured 5 dragonvreath booksHe ran through them in less than a week. Loves them!

Entire family enjoys this series!
We fell in love with this series after reading Dragonbreath, Lair of the Bat Monster, because it was surprisingly educational, the characters think about what's going on in an age appropriate manner, and it is imaginative! Her other books have the same charm and are just off the norm enough to really catch their own fun groove!

great series!
My 11 year old loves these books. The first one was bought at a school book fair and when I saw how much she enjoyed it I jumped on amazon and bought the rest of them. We are eagerly awaiting the newest one that comes out this summer. Anything that will get my child to read I love!

Great for Reluctant Readers
The Dragonbreath Series involves a cast of reptilian (and sometimes amphibian) characters who experience typical life challenges for juvenile and middle grade readers. Challenges and issues (summer camp heirarchy) are flavoured with a little fantasy (horned bunnies) to make the books more engaging. Graphic images help the reading interest along. These are great books for those boys in grades 3 to 6, who aren't reading at grade level or who still have a younger boy sense of humour.

Great for young readers
The kids in our family loves these books. Some pictures but also lots of text. Cute stories with lots of humour which encourages them to read.
