The carb alone is worth the cost
I tried to rebuild the original carb, and could not get the saw to work. The carburator in this kit has worked really well. It was an exact match and the saw now runs great with proper tuning. The OEM carb is at least 3 times as expensive as this kit... so anything else in this kit is a bonus. The fuel filter fuel line (black line) is not the best. It fits, and I got it to work, but it does not match the original line, which is formed to a corkscrew shape. I think the original is better designed to allow the filter to move around the tank in different cutting positions. I am worried that the replacement line will NOT allow the filter enough movement. I have a spare OEM fuel line, so not a problem. The air filter did not fit just right. The plastic around the edges was a bit deformed (probably pinched during packing), making it hard to get into the saw. Once it had been in there for a while, it formed to the saw and works fine, so not really a big issue.Be aware that the kit does not come with the proper intake gasket between the carb and reed valve. It did not fit my CS-3000 saw properly. I needed to purchase the correct gasket which is Echo Part number V103000021.Overall, even with some imperfect parts, this kit is a REALLY good deal. If you have an Echo CS-3000 saw that needs a carburetor, then this is a great deal!

Good Carb Kit
Great carb replacement and general tune up kit. With a little carburetor tuning, it got my vintage Echo CS-305 chain saw running like a champ. FYI, the carb that came in my kit was tuned very rich on the low speed port, and very lean, almost nothing, on the high speed port, with the idle speed set high. This might be great for getting the saw to start on the first pull (mine actually did!), but it hesitated and tried to stall as soon as I started to open up the throttle, plus the chain wanted to run even with the throttle released. You wouldn't want to run a saw that way. I closed the low speed port adjustment, opened the high speed port correspondingly, and then reduced the idle speed so the chain would stop when the trigger was released. The little saw now idles smoothly, revs up as it should, and with it's higher design rpm it cuts like the very dickens. It cuts better than my larger saws for small work, up to say 8-10 inches in diameter. I'm quite happy with the purchase.

Runs great when engine hot, starts ok when it is cold
This is update, 10/10/21.I am now rating 4 stars. After a lengthy adjustments of the low speed jet, idle speed and high speed jet. For Echo cs-3400 the Idle speed should be 3,000-3300, no load high speed 10,500-11,500 and cutting speed 8,000-9,000 rpm. It is always best to adjust it at slightly rich condition. I am now getting it to start at 2-4 pulls.Carb fit perfectly. Just can’t start cold. 10-15 pulls and still doesn’t start. Adding few drops of gas in carb throat get engine starting at first or second pull. Very interesting ones it starts it can be adjusted to the factory specs on idle, high (no load speed 12,000 rpm) and full throttle at full load get 8-9,000 rpm. It runs great, it start at one or two pull when hot. However, next day, when cold it doesn’t start until I add few drops of gas in carb throat.

Good Replacement
I should have given 5 stars but decided not to. First of all the product came on time (good), as advertised (good), came with extra line/tube (good) and other extra things. However, it is not a direct replacement since the filter rubber frame is not exactly as my old one and as such it takes some persuasive force and some cutting to get it in. I understand that this product is generic and it can be used on many different brands, but that's perhaps where the problem of trying to cover so many different products with minimal research into the different nuances. Ease of installation cannot be rated since the product can be used for different brands and manufacturers with their own designs and engineering methodologies. In short, it is a good value for the money and I recommend a "buy" for it.

What you need to know.
Do not leave the chain on the bar when you do this install. You can also use the bar solid part to hold the machine while working on it.All you need in parts and more. Cut the small tube you will need an inch longer than you think you need. Watch out for the oil line. Also the carburetor idle stop adjustment is too tight and when assembling the unit you might consider that the hole in the saw body for that adjustment may not be exactly where you think it is. At least a quarter turn CCW just in case.Properly primed by watching a steady flow through the priming circuit tubes the machine with the switch on will start instantly. I was shocked at how this kit performed better than the saw when new.

Gasket is wrong
The gasket that comes with the kit is completely wrong. See the difference in the picture. This is critical for use. Another reviewer noted this also. He ordered a gasket from some place else. In my case, I went to a local auto parts store and bought gasket material. It worked great. But it also cost $7.00 more to do this. That make the price of this kit more. I do now have enough gasket material to make at least 30 of them. That said, the rest of the kit worked wonderfully! Engine now runs and idles great. I would give it at least a 4 star rating if the gasket was correct. It would be nice if the fuel line was curly like the original but it does work. Changing the tank breather requires removing the left cover. It is stuffed WAY up above the engine.

good value overall
This is a good value overall but the air filter did not fit as it should. Plus you have to adjust the Hi and Low settings before use as they are not set at the factory at all: 1.5 turns out from seated is the usual setting then fine tune as necessary. Not that difficult to replace this little carb. I have rebuilt the old 14 year old carb twice already and will keep it for a backup carb.
