Life Stinks / Mr. Saturday Night - 2 DVD Set (desertcart Exclusive) The 2 DVD collection features classic comic performances from comedy giants Mel Brooks and Billy Crystal. Life Stinks - Mel Brooks directs this film about a ruthless billionaire, Goddard Bolt (Brooks), who wants to obliterate a poor section of Los Angeles and build a high-tech commercial center in its place. His only problem is that he owns only half the land needed for the construction, the other half belonging to equally ruthless billionaire Vance Craswell (Jeffrey Tambor), who has his own ideas for the land. The two try to buy each other out until, finally, a deal is struck: Craswell bets that Bolt cannot survive a month on the streets as a homeless man. If Bolt makes it, he gets the property. If he doesn't, Craswell gets it. Bolt agrees and, as a poor man, he begins to feel the pain of being uprooted and alone, even meeting a friendly homeless woman, Molly (Lesley Ann Warren) with whom he forms an attachment. Mr. Saturday Night – Buddy Young (Billy Crystal) was the comic's comic, beloved by everyone. Now, playing to miniscule crowds in nursing homes, it seems like everybody but Buddy realizes that he should retire. This excellent, original story line and very funny movie lost millions at the box office apparently, which proves that we should never take notice of critics, who often don't know what they're talking about. It is fast moving, well written, directed, acted and filmed and should have made a fortune. Mel Brooks movies make up an important part of my comedy collection.

I haven'twatch the other movie
Life Stinks is an enjoyable movie! Only Mel Brooks could come up with some of scenes in this movie. I haven't watch the other movie. I bought this just for Life Stinks.

Our family loves Mel Brooks' sense of humor in his movies, and absolutely love this on with him starring in it, as he has such funny facial expressions that add to the enjoyment of the movie. My Mom who lives with us, kept telling her other children that live in different places, they need to rent this movie it's so funny. I tried to see if it was a movie that could be rented or seen on Netflix, but they do not have it. The only way to see the movie, is to catch it airing on TV or buying it, which I did as a present to my Mom, and she was thrilled.

I Love Mel Brooks
I always search Amazon.com first because they always seem to have what I want and at a reasonable price. This DVD set was not exactly what I wanted; however, it was less expensive to buy this DVD set than to purchase just the "Life Stinks" DVD. I highly recommend this DVD set to anyone who loves Mel Brooks and wants to get "Life Stinks" at a good price.
