I was hesitant because 1. I can't buy it in stores near me 2. You have to buy the color cream, the activator and the tools needed to mix and apply it separately. I was worried about the hassle, the cost and if it was really that much better than a store brand. It definitely is! I bought 2 tubes of color cream; a dark red and dark espresso, 1 bottle of activator and 1 starter tools set. All 4 items cost me around $40. You mix only what you need in the bowl, so I did my underside red and my top side brown. I have long hair and still have plenty leftover for touch ups or root coverage. It's been more than month now and I still have good color, no noticeable fade out and no roots showing yet. No greys!!! I dont see my color running down the drain with every wash like some drug store brands. With a store brand I would have needed 2 boxes and I usually pay around $10/box roughly. But I usually see fadeout and roots showing after 30days or so. So, the Wella brand is more expensive but i got better, longer lasting color and with the leftover product my color will last even longer. If you're using this product I would recommend that you also invest in a good quality deep conditioner. Like all dyes it's very damaging and without some repair your hair will feel like straw. Review: Looks nice on hair, easy to work with - Im not a skilled hair stylist but working with Wella to dye my mom’s hair was quite easy. You have to buy the developer separately(stick with color tango brand like they mention in the packaging. You never know if the formula for the hair color only works well with the same brand/line. Play it safe), we got the volume 20 one. Both the hair color and developer were in total less than 15 dollars. For a permanent hair color from a brand like Wella, that’s pretty affordable. You do have to really read the instructions and follow through correctly to get the best results. We mixed equal parts of the hair dye and the developer (give or take 21-24 grams of each) and applied it all over her gray hairs. It stayed in for 35 minutes. The final result was a vibrant brown with dimension and gloss. Keep in mind, my mom’s hair is processed and thin. Yet the dye really elevated the look. For anyone that’s never worked with hair dye before, keep in mind this does look orange when it comes out of the tube. However, obviously when you mix it with the developer and let it sit on the hair for the appropriate amount of time, it obviously darkens to the color you’ve chosen. 10/10 all the way.

Spicy!
Turned out exactly as hoped and fixed a bleach job gone sad. I was 4N dark brown and got feeling frisky. My brown pic is where I started. I initially wanted to go blonde! Tried the loreal hi lift and it was a disaster. No lift but hot roots! Did a color oops and one round of bleach. I had missed spots to platinum spots. Yikes! I decided to cut my losses and go with the flow. I really wanted a copper red and I actually got something right with this color! I used it with a 6 vol developer and left it on 45 minutes. It did a great job of covering my mistakes, my grays, but it didn't look homogeneous. My light and dark areas blended in with depth. My hair is permed as well and I was really worried about damage. Even at the wash out didn't feel bad. Did an Ion deep conditioner and oooh so soft! Really doesn't look like it's been triple processed. The 6 volume developer worked well for me and saved some damage I'm sure. Great color thar will turn out very vibrant if going over lighter browns/dark blondes. In the picture it's still a little damp. Feeling spicy already!

Wella Tango 7NN hair color.
I have also been adding this product to my regular hair color for many years now. The 7NN ensures additional gray coverage due to the "NN-base", so it is an additional step to ensure that those pesky gray hairs are covered during the coloring process itself. A great value for the price, and very easy to measure and use. You will not be disappointed!

Fixed a bad case of orange stained hair
I got this because i tried to lift to blonde but had orange cuticle staining that wouldnt lift past a 7. I tried a blue toner with no luck then a demi-permanent (again no luck). Due to all the damage from bleach, i used a protein filler prior to dyeing my hair, this can help with a more even color and to prevent damage however they should only be used as often as recommended on the packaging(too much protein causes hair to become brittle and prone to breakage). Id highly suggest using one prior to dyeing to ensure the color deposits evenly throughout your hair. I got the Wella 6C and mixed with 20 volume developer(i used ion instead of wella for developer), put it on my roots for 10 minutes then added it to my ends for the last 5 minutes. Due to the damage/porosity of my hair, i didnt need the full process time(also wellas colors run very dark if you process the full amount of time). The end result is still a little dark(maybe closer to a 5 than a 6) but its toned out the brassiness completely. My hair that was very orange and brassy is now completely cool and even toned. The dye had a bluish-grey tinge so its most likely blue based and will work best on hair with orange tones(compared to green for red tones or violet for yellow tones). Id highly recommend this to anyone struggling with persistent orange tones especially if theyre due to bleaching.

Good covering
Using product for a couple times. The color is not to dark and covers all my gray hairs. It last for up to 5 weeks depends how often you wash your hairs.

The color is lighter than what I expect it. It says dark brown but it is not .

The colour is pigmented and stays for a long time. Honestly wella is a type of product that never goes out of style. If you’re debating using this or using box dye. Definitely buy this and a 4$ bottle of developer and use this. It works a lot better and will not damage your hair as much.

Purchased the Wella Color Tango a few times. I found this product to have good coverage for my greys, and I was pleased that it didn’t have a strong odour nor did it irritate my scalp. As I need to touch up my roots every 2-3 weeks, I had to switch to another brand as this item/colour was usually out of stock when I needed it.
