This was gifted to me a few years ago. I wasn't that excited about it and didn't give it a try for several months. I fell in love with it. It's almost like your Leatherman. You just got to know where it is at all times. I ended up losing it somehow in the forest. I missed it dearly for about a year before I replaced it with a new one. It's just great for starting any type of fire or heating something up or searing a steak. It's just a very useful tool once you have it. Kind of like scissors. Just imagine life without scissors. I feel similarly about this thing.

Worked well for the first few times. After that, it started spitting out butane, will not hold a flame if pointed down. The plastic lock button to hold in the safety switch at top so you can run the flame without two hands, gets stuck. (which doesn't matter since the flame goes out within a few seconds regardless). This thing is 90% plastic, and the butane filler on the bottom leaks when you fill it. It was manageable the first few times, now its basically useless. So I lit my grill 4-5 times for 50$. It's a great idea, but look elsewhere.

First of all, to be clear, this is not a flame thrower, it's a butane torch and a blower that cannot be simultaneously on. That being said, it is incredibly useful. I was using a lighter and a heat gun to light my wood stove and this is more effective...the torch is lights much easier, it's pretty strong, and the blower is just the right amount. The heat gun is overkill even on the lowest setting.Anyways, just bought another for an inlaws Xmas gift! It's a novelty item that works very well.

This is a great product but like with most things I do, I thought I would use it without reading the instructions. Nope, bad idea. Once I read the instructions, it became a great tool for the fireplace, outdoor fire pit and the charcoal BBQ. My wife says it scares her because I am klutz but so far so good, I still have all my facial hair!! All kidding aside this is an awesome tool.

This product is fantastic . We have a few because we have a wood stove , grills and fire pit and a pizza oven ! But this purchase came severely defective . The flame would go out once on and if you blew it out , the gas would still run . Again , this is my 4th - we know how to use it and we love them . This must be a fluke .However , I am disappointed that I had to jump through hoops to get them to refund me instead of just sending a replacement. They wanted me to ship this back - when it’s unstable ! No .So best I got was refund and I need to order a new one . I’ll find a new seller I guess .

Love this campfire starter! The igniter stopped working after 3 uses. We were going to return it. However, we called the company and they sent my hubby a link on how to fix. It’s working again and we love it! Easy fix!!

BEWARE - They do not honor their warranty / ignore claim submissionsI bought this product and it stopped lighting within about a year. I have reached out multiple times for a replacement (the product is registered should be covered under the 2-year warranty) and Bison has not responded to any of my emails or warranty claim submissions.I loved the lighter before it broke and I'd be happy to change my review to 5 stars if somebody responded to my claim submissions.

I deleted my 1-star review in which I complained that filling resulted in leaking butane all over the place (none getting in the unit) and that we nearly had a fire when vapors ignited. I since learned that all butane cans are not the same. Mine was from Coleman and it has a different size nozzle that DOES NOT fit this lighter. Buy generic butane or a can that comes with different nozzle fittings and then you can fill this properly.Then... IT WORKS WELL! Appreciate this is two separate tools. A lighter to start a fire, and an air blower to then fan the flames. They do not work simultaneously... a "blow torch" this is not.Only going to 2-stars because i believe the seller MUST INCLUDE A STATEMENT ABOUT ENSURING THE RIGHT BUTANE BRAND/CAN/FITTING IS USED, perhaps even researching and listing makes of butane that do and don't fit. I feel this is IMPORTANT FOR SAFETY.
