Rola-Chem BS-1-24 Ultra Strip Swimming Pool Covers Repair Patch

What few instructions there are on this easy to use product are under "Features" and I believe the key ones are: "Surface must be clean and dry", "Repair fabric should lap 1" or more over side of tear", "Apply fabric repair to cover on a hard surface" and for winter pool covers "Apply fabric on both sides of tear". Based on my experience if the surface is not very clean and dry the adhesive will work poorly at best. A grass lawn was workable as a "hard surface" but not very good one and I would try to use a board if I did this again. When estimating how much you will need go to the high side and remember that you may need to do both sides. I put this on some holes the day before the cover went on the pool and a week later the patches appear to be holding in place. I have no way of knowing how well the repair will work over the winter. If you have holes then pay attention to the need to over lap the hole by an inch on each side as you only have 3 inches of width in the 5 foot long roll. You will need something to cut the patch material with and scissors worked well plus made it easy to round the corners (as you do for most patching materials). The package looked very different than the picture on Amazon and said "Ultrastrip repair fabric for solar and winter pool covers". I could care less about the appearance of the package as long as the contents are what I expected and they were in this case. I mention this simply because I have noticed that some people make a big deal of the appearance of the package in their reviews and if that bothers you don't get this item as even though it works you'll be unhappy before you even try it. The main reason for the 4 stars is that while the patches appear to be working I simply did not get a really good feeling as I went about patching my winter pool cover. The "warm and fuzzy" aspect is why I choose between "I like it" (4 stars) and "I love it" (5 stars). As it stand right now if I was going to patch the cover and saw this product I would buy it again as it worked (results for the full winter are unknown).

I used this product along with the Ultra-Loc Solid Patch Kit.I have a Loop Loc solid pool cover that developed a 24" rip and pulled stitching in one of straps. Since the Ultra-Loc patches are so expensive I decided to use this product with it as reinforcement and added security of the straps. I did apply it to both the top and under sides of the damaged area.It's been in place for 3 weeks to this point and under tension since covering the pool 2 weeks ago. So far, so good, hence the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 until we see it prove worthiness over time.It was easy to apply. I recommend having a flat clean surface to work on and using a hard heavy roller to work out any air pockets.Overall I pleased with the results (so far) and it should extend my $2000 pool cover at least another year!

Was easy to use and so far so good. I live in a colder climate yet the material stuck very well to the cover. I would suggest that you make sure the cover hole you would be repairing is completely cleaned to ensure a good bond between the patch material and the cover. Also make sure you have at least a one inch margin around the hole so the patch material has plenty of cover to bond with.

I love the ease of use & durability of this product! I used it as reinforcement on my cover by placing it directly on the cover(both sides), then placing patches that match the covers appearance to make it more cosmetically pleasing. I would purchase this product again!

I cleaned the small tear in the solar pool cover, applied the tape carefully, and the tape loosened after about five weeks.

Worked as expected. I just put it on two weeks ago so I can't comment on longevity.

Not as good as the loop loc stuff but so much cheaper

I used this product to repair a small round hole I discovered in my winter cover after it was installed for the winter. Even though I was unable to follow the patch directions to the letter, this patch is holding well

Not that easy to use. Fine for small tears.

Garbage. Detached into a sticky mess in a month.

Didn’t work peeled off within a week
