We have two of these cages. One cage holds our 8 girls, and I would say that's about the limit of how many rats you can fit in there. If you buy these for rats, or any small rodent, please cover the floor bars with something. We have a box on the very bottom bit so they have room to dig, and then we've covered the platforms with some scrap fleece. The cage can be a little hard to clean, so be aware of that. Lots of space to hang up beds and hides, but not a lot of floor space. It was a little bit of a pain to assemble, definitely a two person job, but not more so than any other product. Overall, good value for money, would buy it again if I needed to (but I probably won't because it's very sturdy)

After discovering the issue, I promptly contacted their support team, and to my surprise, they went above and beyond to assist me with every step of the process. The level of dedication and promptness they exhibited left me truly impressed. They were patient, understanding, and genuinely committed to ensuring my satisfaction. Not only did they address my concerns promptly, but they also worked diligently to find a solution that worked for both parties. We came to an agreement on a partial refund, which was more than fair and reflective of their excellent customer service. Putting the initial mishap aside, the rat cage itself is absolutely amazing. It provides ample space for my adorable rats to roam and play happily. The design is sturdy and well-thought-out, providing plenty of opportunities for customization and making it easy to keep clean. Most importantly, my rats are absolutely thrilled with their new home, and their happiness brings me so much joy. Knowing that they're content and safe in their environment is priceless. In conclusion, I cannot thank the support team at Yaheetech enough for their outstanding assistance and dedication. Despite the initial issue, their exceptional customer service and willingness to go the extra mile have left me completely satisfied. I wholeheartedly recommend the Yaheetech 175cm Rat Cage Extra Large to any rat owner, as the cage itself is fantastic, and the support team is truly remarkable. This is a BIRD cage and NOT a rat cage. We ordered this, put it together and put our four rats inside. They seemed happy with the space and we loaded it with their toys and favourite chews. Less than a week later, one of the rats got caught in one of the bars, chewed off her own foot to free herself and was subsequently put to sleep by the vets on an emergency appointment, at a phenomenal cost. I showed them pictures of the cage and they confirmed this is completely unsuitable for rats, and is in fact more suitable for a parrot. It has absolutely destroyed my daughter and the other 3 rats haven’t been the same since. This happened yesterday morning. Avoid at all costs. Advert MUST be changed to bird cage ONLY and to state it is unsuitable for rats. Vet has advised us to take legal action against this company as a result of their false advertising, the pain and suffering our rat went through and the cost of the veterinary treatment. I will be contacting them and Amazon separately to this review. Please, please, please do NOT buy for your beautiful rats, EVER. Rest in peace to our beautiful Pearl :-(

Have had this cage for a couple of months and I have found it a suitable cage for rats. When it arrived I noticed one of the metal bars was slightly bent, however was easily pushed back into place with a little force. I had my partner help me put it together, however I think with a little more patience one person could assemble it. The size is perfect if you want a large cage but don't have a huge amount of floor space and the extra shelves and rope make for an easier beginning set up. The tray at the bottom is really easy to clean and accessible if you're using a substrate that can't fit through the bars, however because I have 7 rats and use recycled paper bedding it was going everywhere so I've now replaced the tray that slides out with a storage box, which gives the cage a little extra space and means substrate doesn't go everywhere! The cage itself can be a little tricky to clean due to how the doors are quite small, but once you get used to it it's pretty easy to work around. Overall I think this is a great cage for pets rats, especially for the price. Would definitely recommend.

this cage is amazing for my pet rats, it's really big and easy to build, it's cheap price and good quality. the only thing I would look out for is the small doors that slide upwards to open, if you have an animal that can easily figure out how to slide doors out of the way I would recommend putting a zip tie or something to hold the smaller doors shut. the cage is amazing and I deffinately recommend it.

This cage is perfect for my two gliders, got for a steal of a deal!! I would highly recommend. If your not using other doors get some links and some locks as there are a few cage doors that I don't use, it's a perfect cage, so much room!! I have kitted out with loads of things for my little babies! I am very impressed, nothing broken or bent, didn't take long to build, I would recommend building whilst it's laying on the floor 😊

We have 3 male rats and despite excellent cleaning the powder coating has come off and started to rust, the joins in the cage at the bottom are a great place for the pee to creep into making it very difficult to clean. Would probably be ok for birds but would not recommend for rats

I was a bit overwhelmed when I first unpacked it because there was so many bits to put together and wonder if I could do it. However, it was really easy. The instructions are really clear and took much less time than I thought perhaps just one hour with me doing it on my own. The height is great. The wheels are really good and my rats are going to be really really happy.
