Great knife rack. Well spaced knives - efficiently close, but still easy to take them in and out.I would like to note the dimensions are conflicting in the ad. In two places it says 8.5" wide and in a third it says 9" wide. Mine came in at just shy of 9" - sad news because my drawer is 8.75".I was able, with a little effort to remove the wire nails from the bottom, slide the last knife slot off the dowels that hold it together, trim the dowels, and reassemble it so that it fits the drawer. There is plenty of extra dowel in the space where the honing steel slot is to remove up to about 3/8". If you're handy with tools, you could comfortably fit this into an 8.5" drawer, but if you're not, don't order it if your drawer is less than 9" wide.

It does fit in the drawer. The small slots (on the right hand side of photo) intended for shorter knives work pretty well. The larger slots aren't quite deep enough for the blades of my knives, so if the drawer is pulled open too quickly, the long knives all pop out of their slots.I've wrapped a piece of cardboard around about 1/3 of the holder at the end where the blades all area. With the cardboard taped in place (on the bottom of the knife holder), the knives stay pretty much where they are intended to.In general, it seems that this may have been designed for a certain brand/size/model of knife/handle, but mine don't fit it very well.

Excellent knife holder for in-drawer use. There is confusion in the descriptions regarding width. Mine was exactly 8.5 inches wide. It is sturdy with a nice cleanable finish.

We had purchased another type of in drawer knife storage (plastic) and it just wasn't worth the time of day! We decided to try this and wow are we surprised and happy ! All our knives fit in this storage unit and the unit itself fits wonderfully in our kitchen drawer. I can still put this next to the holder that stores the spatulas and such. So now everything is in one drawer! this has saved us space and it really makes our knives safer getting them in and out! It is sturdy, very classy looking, useful and safe. Couldn't do any better !!!

I really needed a product in which to store very sharp knives in a drawer where I keep other utensils. I didn't want a block to take up room on the countertop. I saw this type of drawer organizer for the first time at a very upscale kitchen store for very upscale price and thought I'd research the net for it - and I usually always start with Amazon. As usual, I found it there for a great price. It arrived quickly and is absolutely perfect! I would highly recommend this product. Keep in mind, however, it takes up 90% of your drawer space, but at least you won't be fearful of getting cut when you get into that drawer looking for items. A+ product!

I did not order the Kraftmaid knife drawer insert when we redid our kitchen because I thought I wanted this two tiered version to hold more knives. I was wrong. The knives slide around too much. My husband keeps putting the smaller steak knives on the lower rack because he thinks it's safer, completely negating the two tiers of storage. The Kraftmaid version has cork to keep the handles in place, but is $90 if I purchase it alone. I do not know what the perfect knife drawer insert would be. I hate to buy things twice though.

Pros:- Fits a lot of knives in a small area safely. Large knife blades rest safely on wooden dowels.- No problem with any of my nice Henkel's knives- Well-built and sturdy- Nice finishCons:- Could be lower-profile - one of my favorite carving knife's handle interferes with drawer closure in my shallow drawers. If the block had lower supports for the longer knives, I'm pretty certain my knife would have fit.

I purchased a used in drawer knife organizer and loved it so I purchased two more and organized all of my knives and sharpeners, this is not only handier it is safer. I don't feel like I am going to be in danger when I reach into the drawer any more and can keep my knives in an order where I know where they are and not piled up. I would recommend this Mundial above all because of the wooden cross bars that hold it together rather than metal ones that might dull a spot on a knife.
