Directions are inside the tube!!!
Be patient while doing this project and think on your feet. The directions (once we found then inside the cardboard tube) helped but they are not perfect take your time and think through each step and you’ll have a wonderful shade. I guess what I’m trying to say is that for what appears to be an easy project, there are a lot of ways it could go sideways on you

vague instructions
My shades are up and I am very pleased with them now...but getting to that point was no fun. I have worked with fusibles many times and this fusible is not very user friendly. The shade kit says it has complete instructions and I have read in other reviews that the kit has everything you need, not so. I finally went on line to the hrt website to print off the instructions, but they don't tell you the width to cut the shade fabric. If you buy one of these kits, go on to the roll ease site and look up the brackets they send you with the kit. There is a formula on that site for measuring the shade width. I also had to buy slats as the shade kits did not come with them. I do like the roll ease method of raising and lowering the shade as opposed to the regular tension window shades.

Is good IF it's what you e
Ok, my 3 rating isn't really a "quality" measure, by 3 I mean it is a good product if it's exactly what you need. Otherwise, it's a good product you've mis-spent money on. The cost reflects the size of it. If you're making a shade 20" wide by 15" long, you've paid for enough materials to make a shade twice that size (or more?) and the rest of it becomes waste. The cardboard tube is really, really thick - unless it gets submerged in water for several minutes it will last without sagging for years and years. As others have noted, instructions are on a sheet of paper inside the tube. Essentially, the drawback is not with the product, per se, it's that the product isn't available in a range of sizes.

Great way to customize your home!
Super great product! After reading some of the other reviews I was hesitant to order it but it was super easy to use and by the way... the directions were inside the tube! Make sure to check there before complaining that you didn't receive them. My shade turned out great and I am planning on ordering at least three more for my bedroom alone!

Do Not BUY! This does not work!!!
My seamstress friend and I worked today for about 5 straight hours trying to get this to work for me. First of all, the kit does not have instructions. Thank God for the other reviewers who were as ticked off as I am since they left great instructions for where to look for support online. The mechanism works well but you must rely on rollerease.com to find measuring and install instructions. The junk that is supposed to fuse to my fabric partially fused but within a couple of hours where it was getting tension began pulling away. The tape that the kit includes to "hem" the bottom did not work at all. Tomorrow we will buy Wonder Under to use with my fabric instead and then we will have to stich the bottom home to secure the dowel that we had to buy. The only thing useful from this kit was the actual mechanism. Such a disappointment.

it works fine but there was no hold down for the cord
it works fine but there was no hold down for the cord ........ fyi i am using a heavy cotton drape material for the shade when i tried to use the iron on backing with it the shade became to thick and did not want to roll up nicely .....left the backing off and used a spray starch instead to stiffen up my shade ....that worked really well.

Fuse-A-Shade
I made shades using the Fuse-A-Shade kit several years ago and liked it so when I wanted to make another shade I decided to use the kit again. When I opened the kit's package, I realized that there were no instructions, nor the bottom slat, although the product description said they were included. The previous kits were ordered from a different vendor and included both the instuctions (a rather essential part) and the slat. Since I have made shades before using this kit, I can manage without these missing elements, but it is a huge irritation that I did not get everything I was paying for.
