Kind of dishwasher safe.
I washed carefully, swabbed with alcohol and did not touch the ceramic before painting to ensure no oil interrupting the paint bond. I air dried 24 hours. I baked according to directions except starting in a cold oven and letting cool in the oven. This paint outliner is quite durable. I have used the painted dishes daily for several months and washed in the dishwasher every time, and most of the paint is intact. The Pebeo liquid paint is definitely coming off, by contrast. Neither paint likes sitting in strongly flavored liquid like coffee for long periods of time; it starts turning green and releasing. I know daily dishwashing is asking too much of this paint, but it was a test to see how far I could push it.In the future I will paint only surfaces that don't contact food continuously (maybe the rim, but not the inside bottom of cups and bowls) and only pieces that don't need to be dishwashed. Serving pieces, cups since they're easy to rinse out in the sink, etc. Those caveats aside, the color is perfect, and I'm thrilled with the ability to create my own blue and white ware. The paint isn't miraculous, but it's very very good!

Good Product...If You Treat it Right
I was a little skeptical about buying this after reading many reviews stating that these type of paints tend to chip or crack. And they are right- if you don't make the proper preparations the paint will not stick at all and flake off everywhere. After a couple of failed attempts and some research, I think I've got the process down and I'm really enjoying the results. There are three key things I discovered along the way to making these paints work.First: Wipe down whatever you are going to paint thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. After you touch an area you intend to paint, do it again. If there is anything at all under the paint it will come off.Second: Let it dry for at least a day (or preferably longer). The paint will seem completely dry after an hour or so, and it may be tempting to throw it into the oven early. Don't. The paint really does need at least 24 hours to cure properly, or else it gets brittle after it is cooked.Third: After you cook your pieces for the directed time, turn off the oven but leave them in. Crack the oven open to allow heat to escape slowly, but do not take your pieces out. This allows them to cool slowly. If they cool too fast, the paint seizes a bit and pulls away from the surface. I left mine in the open oven until they were cool enough for me to touch with bare hands. This may sound like a lot to keep in mind, but the results are completely worth the effort!

PEBEO paint outliners rock, but get the larger size - when available
PEBEO... an excellent brand which - I often use in art projects. This blue is much darker than anticipated: more a deep navy or midnight blue, which will be lovely contrasted with aPrefer their larger sized tubes of color- their smaller ones will inevitably waste more of the hue, which will remain in their metallic tubes
